Multimode fibers serve as high-resolution imaging probes. We show that a hollow-core fiber solves the problems of high background and limited NA. We experimentally demonstrate high-NA raster-scan and compressive imaging through a hollow-core multimode fiber.

Interconnecting hollow-core fibers
2021 IEEE Photonics Society Summer Topicals Meeting Series (SUM), 2021Low-loss hollow-core fiber interconnection to standard optical fibers paves the way for high-finesse resonators, low-noise sensors, high-power delivery and next-generation fiber-optic communications. We will present main interconnection principles, discuss how back-reflection and higher-order mode excitation can be mitigated, and provide application ...

Polarization controller for hollow-core fiber
Optics Letters, 2007We demonstrate a universal polarization controller for hollow-core fibers, a simple device consisting of three twisted fiber sections that makes use of the inherent birefringence of the air-core fiber. The device 5% bandwidth at 1550 nm is calculated from measured data to be approximately 13 nm.

Revolver Hollow-Core Fibers and Raman Fiber Lasers
Optical Fiber Communication Conference, 2018Hollow-core silica fiber with optical losses of ∼1 dB/m at the wavelength of 4.4 μm is demonstrated. Based on this revolver fiber 4.4-μm fiber Raman laser is realized with output average power of 250 mW and quantum conversion efficiency as high as 36 %.

Abstract We propose a new type of hollow-core fiber where the propagation is ensured by a photoinduced self-pattern acting as a surface relief grating (SRG). The SRG is written by launching a suitable laser beam with proper polarization in a capillary glass fiber with the inner surface previously coated with an azopolymer thin film.

Anti-Resonant Hollow Core Fibers
Optical Fiber Communication Conference (OFC) 2019, 2019Hollow core fibers based on anti-resonant confinement have demonstrated attractive properties including ultrashort pulse delivery, low attenuation at mid-infrared wavelengths, and damage-free delivery of light in the ultraviolet. Their potential for future development is discussed.
