Single holographic element wavelength demultiplexer

Applied Optics, 1981
A simple single-element holographic optical demultiplexer for wavelength division multiplexing in optical fiber systems is described. The single holographic element performs all the required functions of collection, separation, and focusing. Experimental results for a device operating in the visible region of the spectrum are described.

Binocular holographic display based on the holographic optical element

Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 2022
Due to the limited pixel pitch of the spatial light modulator (SLM), the field of view (FOV) is insufficient to meet binocular observation needs. Here, an optimized controlling light method of a binocular holographic three-dimensional (3D) display system based on the holographic optical element (HOE) is proposed.

Bandwidth of holographic optical elements

Optics Letters, 1982
The diffraction efficiency, bandpass, and spurious beam rejection are studied for the holographic cascade lens that consists of a diffraction grating in contact with an off-axis zone plate. An analysis is presented for the bandpass of the volume diffraction grating, including the effects of grain polarizability.

Holographic polarization-separation elements

Applied Optics, 1994
Volume holographic optical elements exhibit a property that we call bidiffringence, in which the diffraction efficiency of the element is strongly dependent on the polarization of the incident beam. Dualelement, volume holographic polarization separators utilizing bidiffringence can provide high extinction ratios, and they can provide greater angular ...

Stratified volume holographic optical elements

Optics Letters, 1986
Volume holographic optical elements are of considerable interest for applications in optical information processing and computing systems and in optical interconnect technology. Typical volume holographic optical elements are fabricated from bulk photosensitive materials, such that the holographic recording process occurs throughout the entire volume ...

Fabrication of large-area 3D photonic crystals using a holographic optical element

open access: yesOptics and Lasers in Engineering, 2006
A holographic technique for fabricating 3D photonic crystal is presented. The key element in the fabrication system is a holographic optical element (HOE) consisting of three gratings.

Holographic printing for generating large-angle freeform holographic optical elements

Optics Letters, 2022
We propose a holographic printing technique for generating highly efficient large-deflection-angle freeform holographic optical elements (HOEs). For industrial device applications, the optical efficiency and deflection angle of HOEs are critical.
