Holographic Elements For Coordinate Transformations

SPIE Proceedings, 1989
A novel design technique for generating holographic elements that perform general types of coordinate transformations is presented. The design, which is based on analytic ray-tracing techniques leads to a holographic grating function that can be formed either as a computer generated or as a computer originated hologram.

Holographic optical elements for combined holographic and digital speckle pattern interferometry

SPIE Proceedings, 2003
Holographically recorded diffractive optical elements are described, which can be used to implement very simple self-aligning electronic speckle pattern interferometers (ESPI) and holographic interferometers requiring only a laser source and a CCD camera in the optical set-up.

Holographic Optical Elements

Optical Engineering, 1975
This article is a survey of the characteristics, technology and applications of Holographic Optical Elements (HOEs), considered as general elements in an optical system. HOEs function by diffraction of light from a generalized grating structure with nonuniform groove spacing. HOEs provide a system of thin film optics.

Partitioned Holographic Optical Elements

Optical Engineering, 1982
A new type of holographic optical element is demonstrated which combines some of the flexibility of computer generated holograms with the large space-bandwidth product and high diffraction efficiency of interferometrically recorded volume phase holograms.

Holographic Simulation of Birefringent Elements

Optica Acta: International Journal of Optics, 1984
The method of holographic simulation of birefringent elements is presented. It is shown that the simulation of a birefringent wedge is particularly easy and can be useful for the detection of small birefringences of the order of λ/10.

Iterative Design of Holographic Elements*

Signal Recovery and Synthesis III, 1989
Iterative synthesis is a powerful technique for designing certain types of diffractive holographic elements. The designs especially amenable to iterative methods are characterized by nonlinear partial constraints in two domains that are related through a transformation. This paper reviews three iterative design projects of this type.

Advances in holographic optical elements

SPIE Proceedings, 1990
Recent advances in the design and recording of holographic optical elements are illustrated by means of two representative examples - focussing lens and multiple beam grating. The focussing lens design method is based on an analytic ray-tracing procedure that yields an analytic solution for the diffractive grating function.

Optimized holographic optical elements

Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 1986
This paper presents a method for designing optimal holographic optical elements. The method is based on the minimization of the mean-squared difference between the desired and the actual output waves. The minimization yields an integral equation for the grating function of the designed optical element.

Holoconcentrators as holographic optical elements

ICALEO '83: Proceedings of the Information Processing and Holography Symposium, 1983
In this paper, two basic problems of dichromated gelatin holoconcentrator designs: ray-tracing computing and diffraction efficiency characteristics optimization, are considered.

Holographic Optical Elements Using Polyvinyl Carbazole Holographic Material

SPIE Proceedings, 1986
We developed a new holographic material: polyvinyl carbazore material. The advantage or the material over conventional DCC material is that it has high durability against humidity and transparency. Some optical properties of the material and some applications are presented.
