Optimized holographic optical elements
Journal of the Optical Society of America A, 1986This paper presents a method for designing optimal holographic optical elements. The method is based on the minimization of the mean-squared difference between the desired and the actual output waves. The minimization yields an integral equation for the grating function of the designed optical element.

The possibility of storing lightwaves on holographic material can not only be used for recording and reconstructing of three-dimensional objects, but also to deflect lightwaves in an unconventionally manner and for divergent an focusing properties. This kind of specific holograms, which hold imaging properties are called Holographic Optical Elements ...

Optical Engineering, 1975
This article is a survey of the characteristics, technology and applications of Holographic Optical Elements (HOEs), considered as general elements in an optical system. HOEs function by diffraction of light from a generalized grating structure with nonuniform groove spacing. HOEs provide a system of thin film optics.

Use of holographic optical elements in optical storage
Optical Society of America Annual Meeting, 1990Reflection holographic optical elements for CD/CD-ROM optical pickups and polarizing holographic optical elements for WO and MO disk read/write heads have been developed. This talk discusses how holographic optical elements fit for optical heads, including their advantages and disadvantages from the view point of application approach.

Dichromated gelatin for the fabrication of holographic optical elements
Applied Optics, 1979Hardened dichromated gelatin is the best material available today for the fabrication of holographic optical elements (HOEs) because of its low scattering, large refractive index modulation capacity, and other unique properties such as reprocessibility. On the basis of experimental data accumulated during the last several years, we describe holographic

Holographic Optical Elements with Electro-optic Control
2021Although polymeric and liquid crystalline materials have been separately studied for many years, optical devices based the interaction between these two materials in a composite device have come to the forefront of technology in recent years. Liquid crystals typically have strong interactions with the surfaces with which they make contact, with the ...

Holoconcentrators as holographic optical elements
ICALEO '83: Proceedings of the Information Processing and Holography Symposium, 1983In this paper, two basic problems of dichromated gelatin holoconcentrator designs: ray-tracing computing and diffraction efficiency characteristics optimization, are considered.
