Modifications in FLAP's second cytosolic loop influence 5‐LOX interaction, inhibitor binding, and leukotriene formation

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The enzyme 5‐lipoxygenase (5‐LOX) catalyzes the first step in the biosynthesis of leukotrienes (LTs) involved in inflammatory pathophysiology. After cellular stimulation, 5‐LOX translocates to the nucleus, interacting with the 5‐LOX‐activating protein (FLAP) to form LTA4 from arachidonic acid (AA).

Motility of boar spermatozoa supplemented with homologous seminal plasma of high or low protein content after storage for three days

open access: yesVeterinární Medicína, 2016
The effect of adding high or low protein content homologous seminal plasma to boar spermatozoa on the progressive motility of the spermatozoa after storage for three days, and at a 1 : 4 dilution ratio was investigated. A total of 32 ejaculates collected

Homologous Recombination under the Single-Molecule Fluorescence Microscope [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Homologous recombination (HR) is a complex biological process and is central to meiosis and for repair of DNA double-strand breaks. Although the HR process has been the subject of intensive study for more than three decades, the complex protein–protein ...

Symmetric Homology is Representation Homology

open access: yes, 2022
Symmetric homology is a natural generalization of cyclic homology, in which symmetric groups play the role of cyclic groups. In the case of associative algebras, the symmetric homology theory was introduced by Z. Fiedorowicz \cite{F} and was further developed in the work of S. Ault \cite{Au1, Au2}. In this paper, we show that, for algebras defined over

B cell mechanobiology in health and disease: emerging techniques and insights into therapeutic responses

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
B cells sense external mechanical forces and convert them into biochemical signals through mechanotransduction. Understanding how malignant B cells respond to physical stimuli represents a groundbreaking area of research. This review examines the key mechano‐related molecules and pathways in B lymphocytes, highlights the most relevant techniques to ...

Homological descent for motivic homology theories [PDF]

open access: yesHomology, Homotopy and Applications, 2014
We show that motivic homology, motivic Borel-Moore homology and higher Chow groups satisfy homological descent for hyperenvelopes, and l-hyperenvelopes after inverting l.

Evolutionary interplay between viruses and R‐loops

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Viruses interact with specialized nucleic acid structures called R‐loops to influence host transcription, epigenetic states, latency, and immune evasion. This Perspective examines the roles of R‐loops in viral replication, integration, and silencing, and how viruses co‐opt or avoid these structures.

Impact of stem cell source on allogeneic stem cell transplantation outcome in hematological malignancies [PDF]

open access: yesVojnosanitetski Pregled, 2011
Background/Aim. Peripheral blood (PB) is used more frequently as a source of stem cells (SCs) for allogeneic transplantation. However, the influence of cell source on the clinical outcome of SC transplantation is not yet well established.
