The foraging behaviour of honey bees, Apis mellifera: a review.
Foraging behaviour is one of the distinctive behaviours of honey bees, Apis mellifera. This behaviour is the link between the honey bee colony and the ambient environment.

The purpose of the study presented in the article was to highlight the development of the Sevriuks’ honey hunting and its features, as far as available sources allow. Sources of studying the honey hunting of the Sevriuks in the 14th to 17th centuries are various kinds of documents, published honey harvesting «marks» (signs of ownership of the honey ...

First molecular detection of Chronic Bee Paralysis Virus (CBPV) in Iran
Among the viruses infecting honey bees, chronic bee paralysis virus (CBPV) is known to induce significant losses in honey bee colonies. CBPV is an unclassified polymorphic single stranded RNA virus. Using RT-PCR, the virus infections in honey bees can be

Asymptotic Capacity of Wireless Ad Hoc Networks with Realistic Links under a Honey Comb Topology [PDF]
We consider the effects of Rayleigh fading and lognormal shadowing in the physical interference model for all the successful transmissions of traffic across the network. New bounds are derived for the capacity of a given random ad hoc wireless network that reflect packet drop or capture probability of the transmission links. These bounds are based on a

Approximation properties of (p,q)-Meyer-Konig-Zeller Durrmeyer operators [PDF]
In this paper, we introduce Durrmeyer type modification of Meyer-Konig-Zeller operators based on (p,q)-integers. Rate of convergence of these operators are explored with the help of Korovkin type theorems. We establish some direct results for proposed operators. We also obtain statistical approximation properties of operators.

Since Varroa mites may cause devastating losses of honey bees through direct feeding, transmitting diseases, and increasing pathogen susceptibility, chemical and mechanical practices commonly are used to reduce mite infestation.

Viral epidemiology of the adult Apis Mellifera infested by the Varroa destructor mite [PDF]
The ectoparasitic mite Varroa destructor has become one of the major worldwide threats for apiculture. Varroa destructor attacks the honey bee Apis mellifera weakening its host by sucking hemolymph. However, the damage to bee colonies is not strictly related to the parasitic action of the mite but it derives, above all, from its action as vector ...

In-vivo two-photon imaging of the honey bee antennal lobe [PDF]
Due to the honey bee's importance as a simple neural model, there is a great need for new functional imaging modalities. Herein we report on the use of two-photon microscopy for in-vivo functional and morphological imaging of the honey bee's olfactory system focusing on its primary centers, the antennal lobes (ALs).
