Chromatin landscape dictates HSF binding to target DNA elements.
Sequence-specific transcription factors (TFs) are critical for specifying patterns and levels of gene expression, but target DNA elements are not sufficient to specify TF binding in vivo.

Climate extremes threaten the sustainability of cranberry production, a culturally and economically important North American crop. This study demonstrates that wild cranberries (Vaccinium oxycoccos) harbor genetic variation that may enhance cold stress resilience when introduced into cultivated cranberry through hybridization.

Evolutionary Divergence of Duplicated Hsf Genes in Populus [PDF]
Heat shock transcription factors (Hsfs), which function as the activator of heat shock proteins (Hsps), play multiple roles in response to environmental stress and the development of plants. The Hsf family had experienced gene expansion via whole-genome duplication from a single cell algae to higher plants. However, how the Hsf gene family went through

Advances in cholesterol and lipoproteins detection for healthcare: A review
Cholesterol is one of the main biomarkers related to the development of cardiovascular diseases. Its detection still relies on traditional methods of analysis, such as gas and liquid chromatographies. Detection of free cholesterol in saliva with redox or enzymatic sensors or detection of lipoproteins in blood with aptamer sensors are currently the most

Dusky grouse seasonal resource selection in the Great Basin isolated mountain ranges of Nevada, USA
Dusky grouse Dendragapus obscurus are a montane forest grouse species with a paucity of information regarding their temporal and spatial resource use during critical times of high mortality and reproductive output. This lack of vital data may leave dusky grouse at risk of sub‐optimal management in many areas of their distribution, especially in the ...

Bactrian in Issyk‐Kushan Script: Additional Readings and Decipherments1
Abstract This article presents additional readings of several inscriptions written in the Issyk‐Kushan script, building on the improved system of sound values recently proposed by Sims‐Williams (2025b). We propose that some further lines of Dašt‐i Nāwur inscription DN III and parts of several other inscriptions can now be read as Bactrian, add new ...

The Kato Square Root Problem for Mixed Boundary Conditions [PDF]
We consider the negative Laplacian subject to mixed boundary conditions on a bounded domain. We prove under very general geometric assumptions that slightly above the critical exponent $\frac{1}{2}$ its fractional power domains still coincide with ...

“I teach her at home”: Home learning environments amid resource constraints
ABSTRACT Objective This study examined how mothers with low incomes think about and enact investments of time and money for their infants and toddlers. Background Infancy and toddlerhood are pivotal years for development. Home learning environments in these earliest years can also set the stage for later home learning environments.

The magnetization in a lightly doped La$_{2-x}$Sr$_x$CuO$_4$ ($x=0.018$) single crystal was measured. Spin-flop transition was clearly observed in the hole doped antiferromagnetically ordered state under increasing magnetic fields perpendicular to the ...
