Identification of the Recombinant Plasmodium vivax Surface-Related Antigen as a Possible Immune Evasion Factor Against Human Splenic Fibroblasts by Targeting ITGB1

open access: yesFrontiers in Cell and Developmental Biology, 2021
Plasmodium vivax–infected erythrocytes can enter the spleen and evade spleen clearance to establish chronic infections. However, the mechanism underlying P. vivax immune evasion in the spleen is still unclear.

Scaling Limits of Processes with Fast Nonlinear Mean Reversion [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
We derive scaling limits for integral functionals of It\^o processes with fast nonlinear mean-reversion speed. We show that in these limits, the fast mean-reverting process is "averaged out" by integrating against its invariant measure. These convergence

Mosaic activation of the zebrafish hsp70l heat shock promoter: Implications for interpreting transgenes

open access: yesDevelopmental Dynamics, EarlyView.
Abstract Background The promoters and enhancers of heat shock genes, such as the 1.5‐kb promoter of the zebrafish hsp70l gene, are valuable tools for temporal activation of transgenes. It has been widely purported that heat shock treatments result in ubiquitous expression of hsp70l‐driven transgenes.

Protective Effects of Zein/Ferulic Acid (FA)–Pectin (PEC)/Chitosan (CS) Nanocomplexes on DSS-Induced Ulcerative Colitis in Mice

open access: yesFoods
Ferulic acid (FA) exhibits beneficial properties in ulcerative colitis (UC) pathogenesis, while sensitivity to the environment and enzymes limits its use in UC therapy.

Genome-wide identification and analysis of the heat shock transcription factor family in moso bamboo (Phyllostachys edulis)

open access: yesScientific Reports, 2021
Heat shock transcription factors (HSFs) are central elements in the regulatory network that controls plant heat stress response. They are involved in multiple transcriptional regulatory pathways and play important roles in heat stress signaling and ...

Technological, Nutritional, and Sensory Characteristics of Gnocchi Enriched with Hemp Seed Flour

open access: yesFoods, 2022
Hemp seed flour (HSF) is a by-product of the hemp oil production process and is a valuable source of protein, dietary fiber, minerals, and vitamins. In line with sustainable food production and a circular economy, this research aimed to utilize HSF as ...

Highly efficient blue crystalline organic light‐emitting diodes enabled by a hot exciton sensitizer PyPO

open access: yesFlexMat, EarlyView.
Two different sensitization structures (hot exciton sensitizer type and exciton nanoaggregate type) were integrated into crystalline host matrix. The resulting crystalline organic light‐emitting diodes exhibit low Joule heat loss ratio and high photon output.

Spatial Frequency Tuning of Body Inversion Effects

open access: yesBrain Sciences, 2023
Body inversion effects (BIEs) reflect the deployment of the configural processing of body stimuli. BIE modulates the activity of body-selective areas within both the dorsal and the ventral streams, which are tuned to low (LSF) or high spatial frequencies
