Primary Cancer Prevention Through Vaccination: Advances, Challenges, and Global Perspectives. [PDF]
ABSTRACT Oncogenic viral and bacterial infections constitute a significant portion of the global cancer burden, accounting for up to 15% of cases, particularly in low‐ and middle‐income countries. Prophylactic vaccination thus appears to be the most effective tool for preventing these preventable cancers, especially those linked to human papillomavirus

Neuroimmunity of HTLV-I Infection [PDF]
Human T-lymphotrophic virus type I (HTLV-I) is an oncogenic retrovirus and its infection is associated with a variety of human diseases including HTLV-I-associated myelopathy/tropic spastic paraparesis (HAM/TSP). Large numbers of epidemiological, virological, immunological, and clinical studies on HTLV-I- and HTLV-I-associated diseases have been ...

Cholesterol Dependence of HTLV-I Infection [PDF]
Cholesterol-rich plasma membrane microdomains are important for entry of many viruses, including retroviruses. Depletion of cholesterol with 2-hydroxypropyl-beta-cyclodextrin inhibits entry of human T cell leukemia virus type I (HTLV-1) and HTLV-I envelope pseudotyped lentivirus particles.
