Will human-like machines make human-like mistakes?
Behavioral and Brain Sciences, 2017AbstractAlthough we agree with Lake et al.'s central argument, there are numerous flaws in the way people use causal models. Our models are often incorrect, resistant to correction, and applied inappropriately to new situations. These deficiencies are pervasive and have real-world consequences.

Recommender Interfaces: The More Human-Like, the More Humans Like
2016Social robots, when used for information providing, are able to affect humans’ trustworthiness and willingness to interact with them. In this work, we conducted an experimental study aimed at observing if the users’ acceptance of recommendations, as well as their engagement in the interaction, is elicited when using a humanoid robot with respect to a ...

Towards More Human-Like Episodic Memory for More Human-Like Agents
2009Episodic memory (EM) is an umbrella term for memory systems that operate with representations of personal history of an entity. The content of EM is related to particular places and moments, and connected to subjective feelings and current goals. Recently, it has been argued that EM is one of the key components contributing to believability of ...

Human-Like Playtesting with Deep Learning
2018 IEEE Conference on Computational Intelligence and Games (CIG), 2018We present an approach to learn and deploy human-like playtesting in computer games based on deep learning from player data. We are able to learn and predict the most "human" action in a given position through supervised learning on a convolutional neural network.
