Plasminogen activator activity in human endometrial carcinoma

Gynecologic Oncology, 1985
Plasminogen activator activity (PAA) has been proposed as an indicator of aggressiveness of tumors and has been shown to be hormonally modulated. To test this hypotheses in human endometrial carcinoma, tumor explants were assayed for PAA secretion and the results correlated with histopathologic criteria of aggressiveness.

Regulation of proteasome activity in activated human platelets

Cell Calcium, 2011
Ubiquitin-proteasome system has emerged a central player in regulation of diverse cellular processes. However, relevance of proteasome activity in platelets, which are terminally differentiated enucleate cells, is not clear. In this report we show that activation of platelets with physiological agonists was associated with 7-10 -fold rise in ...

Timespace of Human Activity

2010
This book shows that a concept of activity timespace drawn from the work of Martin Heidegger provides new insights into the nature of activity, society, and history. Although the book is a work of theory, it has significant implications for the determination and course, not just of activity, but of sociohistorical change as well.

Recognition of Human Activities

2011
Computer Vision is the estimation of the three dimensional shape and other properties of objects based on their two dimensional (projection) images through the use of computers and cameras. It had its beginning in the early 1960s. At the time, it was thought to be an easy problem with a solution probably possible over a summer.

Recognition of Human daily activities

2015 IEEE International Conference on Communication Workshop (ICCW), 2015
Capturing the type of physical activity a person is performing thorough his daily life, can inspire the development of new and innovative applications. Examples include monitoring patients' health and physical activity performance, reasoning upon the observed activity to recommend better training strategy, new therapeutic programs, etc. In this work we

Activated Macrophages in Human Periodontitis

Journal of Periodontology, 1981
Fifteen patients, eight males and seven females, ranging from 30 to 88 years of age with advanced periodontal disease were selected for this study. Biopsies and blood samples were taken of both normal and inflamed gingival tissues, and processed for detection of nonspecific esterase and acid phosphatase activity in monocytes and macrophages.

Control of Human Plasminogen Activation

Haemostasis, 1988
The activation of GlU1-plasminogen (Glu-Pg) by streptokinase (SK), urokinase (UK) and tissue plasminogen activator (tPA) is under rigorous control by molecules such as ε-aminocaproic acid (EACA), fibrinogen (Fg), fibrin (Fn) and, as we have recently discovered, anions.

Active Human to Maximum Human

2017
This chapter emphasises the active human. The assumption behind this statement is that every human is active in one way or the other. This natural tendency is the key to human productivity. For this reason it is not necessary to make a human active in relation to an activity; what is required is to steer the individual towards the desired productivity ...
