Adverse events of replacement therapy in children with growth hormone deficiency

open access: yesZdorovʹe Rebenka, 2023
Background. The purpose was to analyze and summarize the accumulated short-term and long-term safety data in children with growth hormone deficiency (GHD) treated using recombіnant human growth hormone (rhGH) based on the results of a physical ...

The Role of Hematopoietic Cell Transplantation in Ataxia‐Telangiectasia

open access: yesPediatric Blood &Cancer, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Background Ataxia‐telangiectasia (A‐T) is a DNA repair disorder characterized by neurodegeneration, immunodeficiency, and cancer predisposition. Hematopoietic cell transplantation (HCT) is an established therapy in related disorders such as Fanconi anemia (FA) and Nijmegen breakage syndrome (NBS), but its role in A‐T is unclear.

The effect of local injection of the human growth hormone on the mandibular condyle growth in rabbit

open access: yesDental Research Journal, 2014
Background: The aim of this study was to evaluate the effect of local injection of human growth hormone (GH) in stimulating cartilage and bone formation in a rabbit model of temporomandibular joint (TMJ). Materials and Methods: In an experimental animal

Transferrin receptor 1‐mediated iron uptake supports thermogenic activation in human cervical‐derived adipocytes

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
In this study, we found that human cervical‐derived adipocytes maintain intracellular iron level by regulating the expression of iron transport‐related proteins during adrenergic stimulation. Melanotransferrin is predicted to interact with transferrin receptor 1 based on in silico analysis.

Gut microbiome and aging—A dynamic interplay of microbes, metabolites, and the immune system

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Age‐dependent shifts in microbial communities engender shifts in microbial metabolite profiles. These in turn drive shifts in barrier surface permeability of the gut and brain and induce immune activation. When paired with preexisting age‐related chronic inflammation this increases the risk of neuroinflammation and neurodegenerative diseases.

GnRH receptor activation competes at a low level with growth signaling in stably transfected human breast cell lines [PDF]

open access: yes, 2011
Breakthrough Breast CancerBackground: Gonadotrophin releasing hormone (GnRH) analogs lower estrogen levels in pre-menopausal breast cancer patients. GnRH receptor (GnRH-R) activation also directly inhibits the growth of certain cells.

Polyacrylamide gels with selective recognition of the tetrameric molecular form of human growth hormone

open access: yeseXPRESS Polymer Letters, 2017
Networks of polyacrylamide were studied for the possibility of imprinting of the oligomeric form of human growth hormone. The tetrameric molecular form of human growth hormone was molecularly imprinted for the first time.

The human gut microbiome across the life course

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Despite significant individual variation and continuous change throughout life, the human gut microbiome follows some life stage‐specific trends. This article provides a brief overview of how gut microbiome composition shifts across different phases of life. Created in BioRender. Özkurt, E. (2026) https://BioRender.com/8q4nrnc.
