Az emberi 7-es herpeszvírus 1990 óta ismert, közeli rokonságban áll a 6-os herpeszvírussal, annak B változatával. Csak emberi sejtekben szaporodik, receptora a CD4 molekula. A fertőzött sejtek egy részében élethossziglan lappang, gyakran reaktiválódik és a nyálban tünetmentesen ürül.

Human herpesvirus 7 integrates into host telomeres via its telomeric repeat arrays. [PDF]
Human herpesvirus 7 (HHV-7) is a ubiquitous betaherpesvirus and a causative agent of roseola infantum. HHV-7 harbors telomeric repeat arrays (TMR) identical to human telomeres at the ends of its genome.

Human herpesvirus 6 and human herpesvirus 7 in chronic fatigue syndrome [PDF]
We analyzed lymphocytes of patients with chronic fatigue syndrome (CFS) for the presence of human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) and HHV-7 DNA. HHV-7 was present in over 80% of CFS patients and healthy controls, while the prevalence of HHV-6 variant A increased significantly in CFS cases (22 versus 4%; P = 0.05).

Detection of human herpesvirus-7 by qualitative nested-PCR: comparison between healthy individuals and liver transplant recipients Detecção de herpesvirus humano-7 por nested-PCR qualitativo: comparação entre indivíduos sadios e receptores de transplante hepático [PDF]
Diagnosis of human herpesvirus-7 active infection in transplant patients has proved difficult, because this virus is ubiquitous and can cause persistent infections in the host.

To define the clinical and virologic characteristics of primary human herpesvirus 7 (HHV-7) infection and to compare these characteristics with those of primary human herpesvirus 6 (HHV-6) infection.A prospective convenience sample study of 496 children < or =3 years old. HHV-7 and HHV-6 infections were identified by viral isolation.

The human herpesvirus-7 (HHV-7) U21 immunoevasin subverts NK-mediated cytoxicity through modulation of MICA and MICB. [PDF]
Herpesviruses have evolved numerous immune evasion strategies to facilitate establishment of lifelong persistent infections. Many herpesviruses encode gene products devoted to preventing viral antigen presentation as a means of escaping detection by ...

A pilot study: Salivary human herpesvirus‐6 and human herpesvirus‐7 responses to different types of acute exercise in healthy young men [PDF]
This study examined the effects of different types of acute exercise on salivary expression levels of human herpesvirus 6 (HHV‐6) and 7 (HHV‐7). In a randomized crossover trial, 11 healthy untrained men performed a continuous exercise (CE) trial (20 min ...

Detection of human herpesvirus 7 in conjunctival samples collected from individuals recovering from conjunctivitis [PDF]
PurposeAlthough it is often reported that adenovirus is the most common etiology for infectious conjunctivitis, a recent multi-center clinical study found that adenovirus was confirmed by polymerase chain reaction in only 16% of cases presenting with ...
