A case of human leukocyte antigen B-27-associated ocular hypotony successfully treated with golimumab [PDF]
A 42-year-old male presented to us after an episode of acute anterior human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-B27-associated uveitis, and intraocular pressure (IOP) in the right eye was 4 mmHg. Ultrasound biomicroscopy revealed ciliary body edema with supraciliary effusion.

Human Leukocyte Antigen-B*27 Allele Subtype Prevalence and Disease Association of Ankylosing Spondylitis among South Indian Population [PDF]
Aim: Ankylosing spondylitis (AS) is a chronic inflammatory arthritis mainly affecting articular and extraarticular structures. AS clinical manifestations also involve sacroiliac joints and spine. Genetic factors play a key role in AS susceptibility. AS-associated subtypes of human leukocyte antigen (HLA)-B27 and other HLA-B alleles vary in different ...

The strong genetic association between HLA-B*27 and spondyloarthritis (SpA) accounts for about 90% of the susceptibility to axial SpA (axSpA), and the presence of HLA-B*27 is helpful in classifying patients according to the Assessment of SpondyloArthritis International Society (ASAS) classification criteria. However, over the years, other HLA-B alleles

Polymorphisms of human leukocyte antigen B*27 on clinical phenotype of spondyloarthritis in Chinese [PDF]
BackgroundIn recent years, an ever‐increasing number of alleles of human leukocyte antigen B*27 (HLA‐B*27) have been identified. This study aimed to establish an updated method for HLA‐B*27 subtyping, and to investigate the impact of HLA‐B*27 polymorphisms on the clinical phenotype of spondyloarthritis (SpA).MethodsOverall, 184 SpA patients were ...

This study aimed to determine the presence of peripheral spondyloarthritis and investigate the clinical characteristics of patients with concurrent peripheral spondyloarthritis in those presenting with refractory plantar fasciitis and Achilles tendinopathy by conducting human leukocyte antigen B-27 (HLA-B27) testing. This retrospective study aimed to ...

Abstract Background/Aims Spondyloarthritis (SpA), a HLA-B*27-linked disease, affects 0.7-1.0 per 1,000 in India, 0.2-0.5% globally, with their first-degree relatives (FDRs) at a 20-27% lifetime risk if B*27 positive.
