Association of Human Papillomavirus Type 16 with Malignant Melanoma
The American Journal of Dermatopathology, 1998We report a case of malignant melanoma associated with human papillomavirus (HPV) in a 37-year-old woman. The patient has had numerous brown papular and nodular tumors, 5 to 30 mm in diameter, on her left leg for > 15 years, some of them coalescing rapidly in the last 12 months to a multilobulated black nodule diagnosed as malignant melanoma by ...

Nanobody against the E7 oncoprotein of human papillomavirus 16
Molecular Immunology, 2019The persistent infection of high-risk human papillomavirus (HPV) is one of the most common causes of cervical cancer. It is well documented that expression of two oncogenes (E6/E7) plays a key role in tumor progression. HPV16E7 -targeting via nanobody (Nb) therefore could be beneficial for HPV16-associated cancer diagnosis and therapy.

An oligoarray for the detection of human papillomavirus type 16 variants
International Journal of Gynecological Cancer, 2007On the basis of human papillomavirus (HPV) E6 gene mutations, there are more than five variants of HPV 16. We applied a sensitive and specific stacking hybridization assay using an oligoarray for the detection of Asian-American (AA) and European (E) (E350G) HPV 16 variants.

A Controlled Trial of a Human Papillomavirus Type 16 Vaccine
New England Journal of Medicine, 2002Approximately 20 percent of adults become infected with human papillomavirus type 16 (HPV-16). Although most infections are benign, some progress to anogenital cancer. A vaccine that reduces the incidence of HPV-16 infection may provide important public health benefits. In this double-blind study, we randomly assigned 2392 young women (defined as ...

Human papillomavirus type 16 DMA in an odontogenic keratocyst
Journal of Oral Pathology & Medicine, 1991DNA was extracted from an odontogenic keratocyst and assayed for the presence of human papilloma virus (HPV) type 16 DNA sequences using high stringency Southern blot hybridization. HPV type 16 homologous DNA sequences were detected at a copy number of 50–100 genome copies per diploid cell.

Equine papillomavirus type 2: An equine equivalent to human papillomavirus 16?
The Veterinary Journal, 2017In horses, squamous cell carcinomas (SCC) commonly affect the external genitals. There is growing evidence that equine papillomavirus type 2 (EcPV2) infection promotes disease development. To assess the possible association of EcPV2 with equine SCCs of the head (HSCC), 15 HSCC DNA samples were screened by E6/E7, E2, and LCR PCR and amplicons were ...

Immortalization of differentiated human keratinocytes by human papillomavirus (HPV) 16 DNA
Journal of Dermatological Science, 1996Human papillomavirus (HPV) 16 is strongly implicated as having an etiologic role in cervical carcinoma. Human basal keratinocytes have been used in most HPV transformation studies, and transformed cells have exhibited undifferentiated characteristics.
