Mapping of an Antigenic Site on the Nucleocapsid Protein of Human Parainfluenza Virus Type 3
Viral Immunology, 2009Human parainfluenza virus type 3 (hPIV3) is a respiratory tract pathogen. The current study aimed to investigate immunodominant regions of hPIV3 nucleocapsid (N) protein by using monoclonal antibodies (mAbs) raised against recombinant N protein and human serum specimens from hPIV3-infected individuals.

ISGylation during Human Parainfluenza Virus Type 3 Infection
The Journal of ImmunologyAbstract Human parainfluenza virus type 3 (HPIV3) causes lower respiratory illnesses such as pneumonia or bronchiolitis in infants, young children, and the immunocompromised. HPIV3 associated airway inflammatory diseases manifest as a result of host mediated exaggerated inflammatory response, though limited knowledge exists regarding ...

Characterization of the fusion protein of the human parainfluenza virus type 3
2013Human parainfluenza virus type 3 (HPIV3), a member of the family Paramyxoviridae, is an enveloped, negative-sense single stranded RNA virus, and an important cause of upper and lower respiratory tract disease in children. Infection by HPIV3 requires fusion of the viral envelope with the plasma membrane of the host cell.
