Translating Treg Therapy in Humanized Mice [PDF]

open access: yesFrontiers in Immunology, 2015
Regulatory T cells (Treg) control immune cell function as well as non-immunological processes. Their far-reaching regulatory activities suggest their functional manipulation as a means to sustainably and causally intervene with the course of diseases.

Design and analysis strategies for robust microbiome ageing research

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The gut microbiome changes with age and associates with age‐related morbidity and mortality, establishing it as a potential biomarker and intervention target for ageing. Realising this potential requires methodological rigour, yet distinguishing biological signals from methodological artefacts remains challenging across cohorts. This review provides an

Lattice score based data cleaning for phrase-based statistical machine translation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2010
Statistical machine translation relies heavily on parallel corpora to train its models for translation tasks. While more and more bilingual corpora are readily available, the quality of the sentence pairs should be taken into consideration.

Decoding the dynamic extracellular matrix in cancer—3D models and bioscaffolds rewire the rules of tumor progression

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Cancer progression is regulated by the dynamic matrix code of the tumor microenvironment, which influences cellular behavior and disease development. Importantly, matrix remodeling in three‐dimensional cancer models more accurately reflects in vivo conditions compared to conventional two‐dimensional systems.

Learning labelled dependencies in machine translation evaluation [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Recently novel MT evaluation metrics have been presented which go beyond pure string matching, and which correlate better than other existing metrics with human judgements.

Evaluating accuracy and fluency in machine and human translation: a genre-based multidimensional quality metrics (MQM) study in an English as a foreign language (EFL) context

open access: yesCogent Arts & Humanities
Despite the growing use of Machine Translation (MT) in translation practice, limited studies have examined genre-based quality comparison between machine and Human Translation (HT) using Multidimensional Quality Metrics (MQM) framework, with limited ...

A unique missense variant in the E1A-binding protein P400 gene is implicated in schizophrenia by whole-exome sequencing and mutant mouse models

open access: yesTranslational Psychiatry, 2021
Genetic and epidemiological evidence has suggested that genetic factors are important in schizophrenia, although its pathophysiology is poorly understood.

Microbiome‐blood–brain barrier interactions in aging — mechanisms and therapeutic potential

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Aging reshapes the gut microbiome (↓SCFA‐producing commensals; ↑pro‐inflammatory outputs), shifting circulating metabolites (↓SCFAs; ↑LPS, ↑TMAO, ↑PAA) that act at the BBB to increase nonspecific transcytosis, alter transport, and promote astrocyte reactivity, heightening brain vulnerability.

Histone acetyltransferase CSRP2BP promotes the epithelial–mesenchymal transition and metastasis of cervical cancer cells by activating N-cadherin

open access: yesJournal of Experimental & Clinical Cancer Research, 2023
Background Dysregulated epithelial–mesenchymal transition (EMT) is involved in cervical cancer metastasis and associated with histone acetylation. However, the underlying molecular mechanisms of histone acetylation in cervical cancer EMT and metastasis ...

Lamin A/C-Dependent Translocation of Megakaryoblastic Leukemia-1 and β-Catenin in Cyclic Strain-Induced Osteogenesis

open access: yesCells, 2021
Lamins are intermediate filaments that play a crucial role in sensing mechanical strain in the nucleus of cells. β-catenin and megakaryoblastic leukemia-1 (MKL1) are critical signaling molecules that need to be translocated to the nucleus for their ...
