Resistance training load does not determine resistance training‐induced hypertrophy across upper and lower limbs in healthy young males

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend In healthy young males, we found that skeletal muscle hypertrophy following a period of resistance exercise training (RET) was consistent within and between subjects, as assessed using a variety of established methods. The skeletal muscle hypertrophic response was independent of external load.

Development of Latex Microsphere-Based Immunochromatographic Strips for Detecting Key Aflatoxins

open access: yesToxins
Due to the severe hazard of aflatoxins (AFs) to humans, it is of great significance to detect the key aflatoxins, aflatoxin B1 (AFB1) and aflatoxin G1 (AFG1), in food and feed in simple, rapid, and semi-quantitative ways.

Optimization of semi-solid media for hybridoma cloning and selection. [PDF]

open access: yes
In hybridoma technology, the most labor and time-consuming stage is cell selection and isolation of the monoclonal population. One of the traditional methods for cloning hybridomas is limiting dilution cloning, that requires a lot of work, repetitions ...

Diving into the unknown: Evidence of enhanced skeletal muscle lactate efflux potential and blood–muscle exchange in competitive breath‐hold divers

open access: yesThe Journal of Physiology, EarlyView.
Abstract figure legend Competitive breath‐hold divers exhibit skeletal muscle characteristics indicative of enhanced blood‐muscle exchange capacity and increased lactate efflux potential. Top left: Participant characteristics, matched for age, height, body mass, and maximal oxygen uptake (V̇O2max${\dot{\mathrm{V}}}\rm{O}_{\rm{2max}}$).

The role of phenotypic switching in the basic biology and pathogenesis of Candida albicans

open access: yesJournal of Oral Microbiology, 2014
The “white-opaque” transition in Candida albicans was discovered in 1987. For the next fifteen years, a significant body of knowledge accumulated that included differences between the cell types in gene expression, cellular architecture and virulence in ...

Pathogenic Variants in HEPACAM Alter Protein Localization and Interactome in Astrocytes of the Developing Mouse Cortex

open access: yesGlia, Volume 74, Issue 11, November 2026.
Pathogenic variants alter hepaCAM protein distribution. Astrocyte‐specific hepaCAM TurboID reveals KCNQ2 as a new interaction partner. Pathogenic variants alter hepaCAM association with key transmembrane proteins. ABSTRACT Megalencephalic leukoencephalopathy with subcortical cysts (MLC) is a rare leukodystrophy characterized by early‐onset macrocephaly,

Apoptosis extent increases in hybridoma cultures with temperature

open access: yes, 1997
Apoptosis plays an important role in determining efficacies of bioreactors employing hybridoma cells. Exposure to a 42 degrees C shock for 1 h increased the apoptosis extent (DNA fragmentation) by 32% in CCSC10 hybridoma.

Genetic and Pharmacologic Inhibition of Myostatin Restores Muscle Mass in a Dynamin 2‐Related Centronuclear Myopathy Mouse Model

open access: yesJournal of Cachexia, Sarcopenia and Muscle, Volume 17, Issue 5, October 2026.
ABSTRACT Background Autosomal dominant centronuclear myopathy (ADCNM), most commonly caused by mutations in the dynamin 2 (DNM2) gene, is a rare congenital myopathy characterized by progressive muscle weakness and atrophy. Myostatin, a key negative regulator of skeletal muscle mass, has shown therapeutic potential in several models of neuromuscular ...
