Low-temperature hydroformylation of ethylene by phosphorous stabilized Rh sites in a one-pot synthesized Rh-(O)-P-MFI zeolite

open access: yesNature Communications, 2023
Zeolites containing Rh single sites stabilized by phosphorous were prepared through a one-pot synthesis method and are shown to have superior activity and selectivity for ethylene hydroformylation at low temperature (50 °C).

Ligand Hydrogenation during Hydroformylation Catalysis Detected by In Situ High-Pressure Infra-Red Spectroscopic Analysis of a Rhodium/Phospholene-Phosphite Catalyst

open access: yesMolecules
Phospholane-phosphites are known to show highly unusual selectivity towards branched aldehydes in the hydroformylation of terminal alkenes. This paper describes the synthesis of hitherto unknown unsaturated phospholene borane precursors and their ...

Pressure‐Enhanced CO2‐to‐CO Electroreduction on Ag‐Based Catalysts: Industrially Relevant Rates and Mechanistic Insights

open access: yesCarbon Energy, EarlyView.
Ag‐based catalysts operated under elevated CO2 pressures exhibit markedly enhanced intrinsic activity for CO formation, with OD‐Ag achieving −200 mA cm–2 and 90% FECO at −1.3 VRHE. Mechanistic analysis shows that high pressure strengthens a *COOH‐mediated pathway by increasing intermediate coverage and suppressing hydrogen evolution, establishing CO2 ...

Stereoisomeric Tris-BINOL-Menthol Bulky Monophosphites: Synthesis, Characterisation and Application in Rhodium-Catalysed Hydroformylation

open access: yesMolecules, 2022
Four stereoisomeric monoether derivatives, based on axially chiral (R)- or (S)-BINOL bearing a chiral (+)- or (−)-neomenthyloxy group were synthesised and fully characterised by NMR spectroscopy and X-ray crystallography.

Dimethyl‐, Diethyl‐, and Propylene Carbonates: An Emerging Class of Green Solvents for Organic Synthesis

open access: yesThe Chemical Record, EarlyView.
This review highlights recent advances in the use of organic carbonates, dimethyl carbonate (DMC), diethyl carbonate (DEC), and propylene carbonate (PC), as solvents in organic synthesis. Based on over seventy studies from the past 6 years, it shows their application in different organic reaction types, emphasizing their role in safer and more ...

Synthesis of Aromatic Aldehydes by CH Formylation of Aromatics with Silyl Formates Prepared from CO2 and Hydrosilanes

open access: yesAdvanced Synthesis &Catalysis, Volume 368, Issue 12, 17 June 2026.
A new method has been developed for the C–H formylation of aromatic compounds using silyl formates synthesized from CO2 and hydrosilanes. This is the first report on the direct C–H formylation of aromatics with silyl formates. The formylation reactions were promoted by BBr3 or BCl3. The reaction mechanism has been clarified by DFT calculations. Despite

Synthesis and Characterization of Rh/B–TNTs as a Recyclable Catalyst for Hydroformylation of Olefin Containing –CN Functional Group

open access: yesNanomaterials, 2018
The TiO2-based nanotubes (TNTs, B–TNTs) of different surface acidities and their supported Rh catalysts were designed and synthesized. The catalysts were characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission ...

Scaffold Dependent Coordination Modes of Chelating PEP‐Type Ligands in Iron(0) Carbonyl Complexes (E = O, S)

open access: yesZeitschrift für anorganische und allgemeine Chemie, Volume 652, Issue 9, 3 June 2026.
The reaction of iron pentacarbonyl with various chelating diphosphine ligands containing oxygen or sulfur atoms in their backbone yields complexes that exhibit noteworthy coordination behavior. Depending on the natural bite angle of the ligands and the coordination behavior of the heteroatom, preferences regarding the coordination geometry are verified

Asymmetric Olefines Hydroformylation

open access: yesCHIMIA, 1972
Optically active bis-(N-α-methylbenzylsalicylaldiminato)cobalt(II) and octacarbonyldicobalt in the presence of optically active N-α-methylbenzylsalicylaldimine promote asymmetric hydroformylation of styrene and α-methylstyrene.
