Investigation of differential diffusion in lean, premixed, hydrogen-enriched swirl flames

open access: yesApplications in Energy and Combustion Science
Hydrogen combustion is a promising alternative to fossil fuel combustion in an effort to reduce our carbon footprint. However, hydrogen combustion is prone to thermodiffusive instabilities largely dependent on differential diffusion, a phenomenon that ...

High‐Current‐Density Acidic CO2 Electroreduction to Formic Acid Enabled by Multiscale Microenvironment Regulation Over Defect‐Rich Sn/SnOx

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Acidic CO2 electroreduction to formic acid is enabled by integrating mixed Sn/SnOx nanoclusters, K+‐regulated interfacial solvation, and Janus wettability. Coordinated control of active sites, interfacial water, and gas‐liquid transport suppresses hydrogen evolution and delivers approximately 85% HCOOH Faradaic efficiency at 400 mA cm−2.

Design of a Novel Diamine Biosensor to Guide the Engineering of Escherichia coli for Cadaverine Overproduction

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
A high‐throughput screening platform was established by integrating an in vivo cadaverine biosensor with a fluorescence‐activated cell sorting (FACS) system. Biosensor‐driven specific exporter tuning, pathway optimization and genome‐wide target mining were conducted to maximize cadaverine production in Escherichia coli.

Nonlinear Quantum Effects Drive Grotthuss Proton Conduction in Structured Electrolytes Based on Deep Eutectic Solvents

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrate that the inverse relationship between viscosity and conductivity in structured electrolytes can be circumvented by leveraging their hydrogen bonding networks for Grotthuss proton transport. Using a mixture of imidazole and levulinic acid, we show that the existence of extended hydrogen‐bonded chains that can rapidly reorient result in ...
