Abstract The qualified presumption of safety (QPS) process was developed to provide a safety assessment approach for microorganisms intended for use in food or feed chains. In the period covered by this Statement, no new information was found that would change the status of previously recommended QPS taxonomic units (TUs).

Vitamin D as a predictor of clinical response among patients with cardiac resynchronization therapy (CRT)

In our meta‐analysis, patients with higher 25‐OH vitamin D levels before CRT implantation had better CRT response rates, while vitamin D insufficiency was linked to a higher risk of nonresponse. These findings underscore the importance of monitoring and managing vitamin D levels in patient with CRT.

Measurement of 25-Hydroxycholecalciferol in the Bovine

Bovine plasma 25-hydroxycholecalciferol was estimated by rapid protein binding assay. Serum-binding proteins in the assay were from rats deficient in vitamin D and from normal rats; no differences existed in standard curves. Nanograms 25-hydroxycholecalciferol in eight cows averaged 45.5 +/- 12.2 ml of plasma.
