Metabolic Regulation of Immune Responses: Molecular Mechanisms, Diseases, and Therapeutic Targets
FBP1 loss drives immune evasion and therapy resistance by enhancing glycolysis, STAT3 activation, and PD‐L1 expression, leading to T cell exhaustion and NK cell inhibition. FBP1 restoration, via LNP‐mRNA or epigenetic modulation, reverses these immunosuppressive effects, reactivates cytotoxic T cells, promotes M1 macrophage polarization, and enhances ...

ABSTRACT High‐altitude environments expose mammals and their gut symbionts to multifaceted stressors—hypoxia, cold, and intense UV radiation. Whether gut microbial communities undergo compositional restructuring in response to these stressors, and whether such restructuring carries translational value for captive conservation, remain unresolved ...

Brain cholesterol homeostasis is tightly regulated and largely independent of peripheral cholesterol. This review proposes a unifying framework in which aging, sex, and related biological stressors, including hypercholesterolemia, neurodegeneration, inflammation, and oxidative stress, converge to disrupt cholesterol homeostasis in the brain ...

Leishmania infantum propagated in IDE8 tick cell line in vitro. L. infantum reduces tick cell viability and induces reactive oxygen species production. Lipidic profile of IDE8 tick cell line is altered during Leishmania infection. Abstract Leishmaniasis comprises a group of vector‐borne neglected tropical diseases caused by species of the obligatory ...

The convenient synthesis of 25-hydroxycholesterol.
The convenient synthesis of 25-hydroxycholesterol (6) is described. 5β-Cholestan-3α, 25-diol (2) derived from lithocholic acid was converted to 6 via four steps : oxidationbromination, dehydrobromination, deconjugation, and reduction. The overall yield of 25-hydroxycholesterol (6) starting from 2 was ca. 50%.

The role of 27-hydroxycholesterol in meta-inflammation
27-Hydroxycholesterol (27OHChol), a prominent cholesterol metabolite present in the bloodstream and peripheral tissues, is a kind of immune oxysterol that elicits immune response. Recent research indicates the involvement of 27OHChol in metabolic inflammation (meta-inflammation) characterized by chronic responses associated with metabolic ...

AbstractPlasma 4β‐hydroxycholesterol (OHC) has drawn attention as an endogenous substrate indicating CYP3A activity. Plasma 4β‐OHC is produced by hydroxylation by CYP3A4 and CYP3A5 and by cholesterol autoxidation. Plasma 4α‐OHC is produced by cholesterol autoxidation and not affected by CYP3A activity.
