Comparative metabolomic profiling and chemometric correlation of Salvia rosmarinus Spenn. and Origanum vulgare L. with antibacterial, antioxidant and anti-inflammatory activities

open access: yesScientific Reports
The Lamiaceae plants are recognized in folk medicine for their antibacterial and anti-inflammatory properties. This study reports the first MS-based metabolomics analysis, integrating with chemometrics to explore metabolome heterogeneity in Salvia ...

Geometrical isomerization of hydroxycinnamic acid under UV‐light: Structural plasticity as a driver of metabolite complexity

open access: yesPhotochemistry and Photobiology, EarlyView.
UV irradiation drives metabolite complexity through photoisomerization of hydroxycinnamic acid‐containing compounds in plants. The olefin functional group of hydroxycinnamic acid enables structural plasticity through trans/cis isomerization. Multiple chromophores within a molecule can amplify UV‐induced transformations.

Microbial Strategies for the Degradation of Spent Lubricating Oil: A Comparative Study of Isolate Bacterium and Consortium Cultures

open access: yesWater and Environment Journal, EarlyView.
This show the biodegradation of spent lubricating oil by Bacillus sp. and a marine bacterial consortium. The consortium showed higher growth, biosurfactant production and oil removal efficiency than the isolated strain, highlighting its potential for bioremediation ABSTRACT Spent automotive lubricating oil contains complex hydrocarbons and heavy metals,

A Comprehensive Polyphenolic Characterization of Five Montmorency Tart Cherry (Prunus cerasus L.) Product Formulations

open access: yesFoods
The Montmorency tart cherry (Prunus cerasus L., MTC) polyphenols may contribute to reduced inflammation and oxidative stress biomarkers in the body. However, a comprehensive polyphenolic profile of MTC products is lacking.

A Comparative Study of MALDI MSI Versus DESI MSI Applied to Questioned Document Examination

open access: yesRapid Communications in Mass Spectrometry, Volume 40, Issue 19, 15 October 2026.
ABSTRACT Rationale In forensic investigations, questioned document examination (QDE) provides critical information for document authentication and the detection of forgeries. Conventional QDE approaches often require separate analyses of inks and of any potential fingerprints.

Impact of Yarrow Phenolic Compounds on the Composition, Structure, and Thermal Properties of Lupin Protein‐Stabilized Oil‐in‐Water Nanoemulsions

open access: yesSustainable Food Proteins, Volume 4, Issue 3, September 2026.
Yarrow phenolics modulate the interfacial and thermal behavior of lupin protein‐stabilized nanoemulsions through noncovalent interactions, altering droplet size, viscoelastic properties, and protein structure. ABSTRACT The effect of phenolic compounds extracted from yarrow (Achillea millefolium L.) in the interfacial stabilization of oil–water ...
