Chloromethylation of 8-hydroxyquinoline
Analytica Chimica Acta, 1956Abstract The reaction of formaldehyde on a hydrochloric acid solution of 8-hydroxyquinoline, in the presence of hydrochloric acid gas, gave a chloromethyl derivative which is probably 7-chloromethyl-8-hydroxyquinoline hydrochloride. This compound is readily converted into the 7-hydroxymethyl derivative in alkaline solution.

[Oral provocation of a hydroxyquinoline eczema. Hematogenic contact eczema from hydroxyquinoline].
Dermatosen in Beruf und Umwelt. Occupation and environment, 1983We inform about an eczema reaction from inside after perception of Reasec Plus. This hydroxyquinolin substance caused a generalized dermatitis at a patient who is contact sensibilized against Vioform. The sensitivity index found out among our patients is very little (0,85%).

[Toxicity of hydroxyquinoline derivatives].
Veterinarno-meditsinski nauki, 1981We studied a 90 day toxicity in dogs of the compound broxyquinoline + broxaldine--5:1 (enteroquin), applied orally and daily in doses of 0.1 and 0.2/kg t/24 h. We established the toxic manifestations during the period after the 15th day of the treatment: leukopenia, neutropenia and lymphocytosis (by 0.2 kg t/24 h).
