The conceptual design of a spatial binary hyper redundant manipulator and its forward kinematics

open access: yes, 2011
The hyper redundant manipulators (HRMs) have excessively many degrees of freedom. As a special but practicable subset of them, the binary hyper-redundant manipulators (BHRMs) use binary (on–off) actuators with only two stable states such as pneumatic ...

Modeling and control of a hyper redundant manipulator

open access: yes, 2020
The hyper redundant manipulators (HRMs) have excessively large degrees of freedom. As a special but practicable subset, the binary HRMs use binary (on-off) actuators with only two stable states such as pneumatic cylinders and solenoids. Such actuators are simple, cheap, and easy to control. Therefore, a binary HRM has been studied in this thesis.

Advances in Position‐Momentum Entanglement: A Versatile Tool for Quantum Technologies

open access: yesLaser &Photonics Reviews, EarlyView.
Position–momentum entanglement constitutes a high‐dimensional continuous‐variable resource in quantum optics. Recent advances in its generation, characterization, and control are reviewed, with emphasis on spontaneous parametric down‐conversion and modern measurement techniques.

Plasmepsins as Antimalarial Drug Targets—Then, Now, and the Future

open access: yesMedicinal Research Reviews, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Malaria is a devastating disease caused by Plasmodium parasites. Plasmodium parasites express ten cathepsin D‐like aspartyl proteases, called plasmepsins (PMs). These PMs have diverse roles fulfill diverse functions throughout the parasite's lifecycle, though several exhibit functional redundancies. Among them, PMV, PMIV, and PMX are essential

SelExNet: A Self‐Supervised Physics‐Informed Framework for Multi‐Channel Joint RF and Gradient Waveform Optimization in 2D Spatially Selective Excitation

open access: yesMagnetic Resonance in Medicine, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Purpose To introduce SelExNet: a self‐supervised framework for two‐dimensional spatially selective excitation that jointly optimizes radiofrequency (RF) pulses and gradient waveforms, and extends to multi‐channel transmission MRI. Methods Building on prior RF‐only and joint RF‐gradient optimization approaches, SelExNet couples neural RF and ...

Linking regional and global functional trait data: insights from mammal communities in a fragmented Atlantic Forest landscape

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Accurate functional trait data are essential for understanding ecosystem services and processes in fragmented landscapes. We evaluated whether the global EltonTraits 1.0 database adequately represents the functional structure of mammal communities in forest fragments and restoration sites in a highly fragmented Atlantic Forest landscape.

Drivers of metabolic density‐dependence: how resource availability and conspecific cues affect phytoplankton metabolism

open access: yesOikos, EarlyView.
Metabolism is density‐dependent from unicellular to multicellular organisms. Understanding what drives metabolic suppression is important to explain population growth given the link between metabolism and biomass production. In the simplest scenario, metabolic suppression is caused by a reduction in resource availability with increasing population ...
