Malignant hyperthermia (MH) is a subclinical myopathy, usually triggered by volatile anaesthetics and depolarising muscle relaxants. Clinical symptoms are variable, and the condition is sometimes difficult to identify. Nevertheless, rapid recognition and specific as well as symptomatic treatment are crucial to avoid a lethal outcome.

Evidence for Two Modes of Synergistic Induction of Apoptosis by Mapatumumab and Oxaliplatin in Combination with Hyperthermia in Human Colon Cancer Cells [PDF]
Colorectal cancer is the third leading cause of cancer-related mortality in the world-- the main cause of death from colorectal cancer is hepatic metastases, which can be treated with isolated hepatic perfusion (IHP).

Hyperthermia combined with chemotherapy - Biological rationale, clinical application, and treatment results [PDF]
There is substantial evidence from preclinical data that the antitumor cytotoxicity of selected chemotherapeutic agents either alone or combined with radiation can be enhanced by appropriate heat exposure (40-44 degrees C) of cells or tumor tissues ...

Hyperthermia inhibits cellular function and induces immunogenic cell death in renal cell carcinoma
Background In recent years, hyperthermia has been widely applied as a novel strategy for cancer treatment due to its multiple antitumour effects. In particular, the potential influences of hyperthermia on the tumour immune microenvironment may improve ...

Effects of MDMA on body temperature in humans [PDF]
Hyperthermia is a severe complication associated with the recreational use of 3,4-methylenedioxymethamphetamine(MDMA, Ecstasy). In this review, the clinical laboratory studies that tested the effects of MDMA on body temperature are summarized.
