His+ reversions Caused in Salmonella typhimurium by different types of ionizing radiation [PDF]

open access: yes, 1988
The yield of his+ reversions in the Ames Salmonella tester strain TA2638 has been determined for 60Co γ rays, 140 kV X rays, 5.4 keV characteristic X rays, 2.2 MeV protons, 3.1 MeV α particles, and 18 MeV/U Fe ions.

Comparative Analysis of Four Matrix Dilution Methods for Eliminating IgM Paraprotein Interference in Prealbumin and Uric Acid Assays: Based on Two Case Reports

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Laboratory Analysis, EarlyView.
IgM paraproteins can cause significant interference in prealbumin (PA) and uric acid (UA) measurements, leading to falsely abnormal results. We systematically compared four dilution methods to eliminate this interference. Dilution with the PA reagent (containing PEG) effectively restored accurate PA results.

Mannitol versus hypertonic saline solution in neuroanesthesia☆

open access: yesColombian Journal of Anesthesiology, 2015
Abstract Background Hyperosmolar therapy with mannitol or hypertonic saline solution is the main medical strategy for the clinical management of intracranial hypertension (IH) and cerebral oedema. IH and cerebral oedema are usually the result of acute and chronic brain injuries such as severe head trauma, ischaemic stroke, intracerebral haemorrhage,

Conditioned hedonic responses elicited by contextual cues paired with nausea or with internal pain [PDF]

open access: yes, 2019
Pairing a taste with either internal pain or nausea, despite equivalent effects on voluntary consumption, has dissociable effects on hedonic responses: Only pairing with nausea results in the production of disgust reactions, while pairing with internal ...

Admission Plasma Lipopolysaccharide‐binding protein, Procalcitonin, and Lactate for Early Identification of Nosocomial Infection in Cirrhotic Patients With Upper Gastrointestinal Bleeding: A Retrospective Analysis

open access: yesThe Kaohsiung Journal of Medical Sciences, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT This study aimed to assess whether admission plasma lipopolysaccharide‐binding protein (LBP), procalcitonin (PCT), and lactate could improve detection of nosocomial infection in cirrhotic patients presenting with upper gastrointestinal bleeding (UGIB).
