A formal approach to hypervideo design

2007 14th International Workshop on Systems, Signals and Image Processing and 6th EURASIP Conference focused on Speech and Image Processing, Multimedia Communications and Services, 2007
This paper presents a formal approach to hypermedia design and implementation. Hypermedia and its synchronization are explained, along with its spatial, temporal and logical aspects. A possible design and implementation of adaptive, interactive, hypermedia educational content related to the course digital systems are presented. The hypermedia documents

Designing affordances for the navigation of detail-on-demand hypervideo

Proceedings of the working conference on Advanced visual interfaces, 2004
We introduced detail-on-demand video as a simple type of hypervideo that allows users to watch short video segments and to follow hyperlinks to see additional detail. Such video lets users quickly access desired information without having to view the entire contents linearly.

Point of view-an experiment in linear hypervideo

Proceedings IEEE International Conference on Multimedia Computing and Systems, 2003
The article describes a prototype that implements a new model for interactive movie viewing. The demo contains a short movie that was filmed from several points of view. The user can choose the angle from which he would like to watch the movie by selecting an appropriate link. The user's selections do not interfere with the development of the narrative.

Authoring Hypervideos Learning Objects

2020
The development of hypervideo-based Learning Objects (LOs) is complex and usually requires a multidisciplinary team, e.g., software developers, designers, and content specialists. In such a scenario, it is important to provide easy-to-use and flexible authoring tools that allow teachers create their educational content by themselves.

HyLive: Hypervideo-Authoring for Live Television

2008
In this paper we discuss the commonalities and differences of hypervideo and interactive television. We show that, even if the interaction and presentation of both are similar, there are strong differences in handling the content and the link structure of those media.

Teacher-Centered Production of Hypervideo for Distance Learning

International Journal of Distance Education Technologies, 2005
This paper introduces the main features of LEZI, a software tool oriented to the production of indexed videos (hypervideos), enriched with hypertextual and multimedia elements. In certain types of educational applications, the quality of educational content may compensate easily for a user interface limited to the essentials or a reduced set of ...

Collaborative hypervideo editing using MediaWiki

Proceedings of the Eighth Annual International Symposium on Wikis and Open Collaboration, 2012
Current wikis cannot be used to host or author rich dynamic hypervideos along with hypertext elements. In this article vi-wiki is presented as an approach for seamless and collaborative integration of interactive hypervideos into MediaWiki. Vi-wiki combines the wiki metaphor with a direct manipulation user interface for hypervideo authoring and ...

Interactive hypervideo visualization for browsing behavior analysis

Proceedings of the 21st International Conference on World Wide Web, 2012
Processing web interaction data is known to be cumbersome and time-consuming. State-of-the-art web tracking systems usually allow replaying user interactions in the form of mouse tracks, a video-like visualization scheme, to engage practitioners in the analysis process. However, traditional online video inspection has not explored the full capabilities
