Authoring, viewing, and generating hypervideo
ACM Transactions on Multimedia Computing, Communications and Applications, 2008Hyper-Hitchcock consists of three components for creating and viewing a form of interactive video called detail-on-demand video: a hypervideo editor, a hypervideo player, and algorithms for automatically generating hypervideo summaries. Detail-on-demand video is a form of hypervideo that supports one hyperlink at a time for navigating between video ...

Methods for incorporating video in hypermedia programs are discussed in this article. Hypermedia is defined, and linear and interactive video are contrasted. It is argued that hypermedia presents unique problems in knowledge representation affecting video production, and that techniques are required differing from those for linear video and other forms

Proceedings of the eleventh ACM international conference on Multimedia, 2003
We demonstrate the use of detail-on-demand hypervideo in interactive training and video summarization. Detail-on-demand video allows viewers to watch short video segments and to follow hyperlinks to see additional detail. The player for detail-on-demand video displays keyframes indicating what links are available at each point in the video.

Description and narrative in hypervideo
Proceedings of the 34th Annual Hawaii International Conference on System Sciences, 2005While hypertext was originally conceived as an approach to the management of scientific and technical information, it has been embraced with great enthusiasm by several members of the literary community for the promises it offers towards new approaches to narrative.

Matching Interactive TV and Hypervideo
The paper reports an approach to develop an interactive TV system based on the concept of hypervideo. The great innovation the concept of hypervideo proposed in this paper brings is the possibility to associate different complementary information about the objects shown in scene. The association between those complementary information and video is made

Building and using hypervideos
Proceedings Fourth IEEE Workshop on Applications of Computer Vision. WACV'98 (Cat. No.98EX201), 2002This paper presents the first version of our platform for automatically building the structure of a video sequence. The first application uses semi-automatic tools based only on image analysis for building interactive videos: decomposing the video into shots, extracting and tracking objects within each shot and linking occurrences of similar objects ...

Web browsing behavior analysis and interactive hypervideo [PDF]
Processing data on any sort of user interaction is well known to be cumbersome and mostly time consuming. In order to assist researchers in easily inspecting fine-grained browsing data, current tools usually display user interactions as mouse cursor tracks, a video-like visualization scheme. However, to date, traditional online video inspection has not

Proceedings of the sixteenth ACM conference on Hypertext and hypermedia, 2005
Hyper-Hitchcock is a hypervideo editor enabling the direct manipulation authoring of a particular form of hypervideo called "detail-on-demand video." This form of hypervideo allows a single link out of the currently playing video to provide more details on the content currently being presented.

Proceedings of the 14th International Academic MindTrek Conference: Envisioning Future Media Environments, 2010
In traditional video, the user is locked to the angle where the camera was pointing to during the capture of the video. With 360° video recording, there are no longer these boundaries, and 360° video capturing devices are becoming more common and affordable to the general public.

A Hypervideo Model for Learning Objects
Proceedings of the 28th ACM Conference on Hypertext and Social Media, 2017Learning Objects (LOs) are entities that can be used, reused, or referred during the teaching process. They are commonly embedded into documents that establish spatial and temporal relationships on their contents. Hypervideos LOs allow students to individualize their learning experience with non-linear browsing mechanisms and content adaptation.
