Raman spectroscopic study of DNA photodamage sensitized by hypocrellin B and 5-brominated-hypocrellin B

open access: yesChinese Science Bulletin, 1998
Hypocrellin B (HB) is a highly effective photosensitizer. One of its derivatives, 5-brominated-hypocrellin B (5-Br-HB) has better photosensitive characterlstics than it. Using Raman spectroscopy, the microcosmic photodamage to DNA sensitized by HB and 5-Br-HB was studied at molecular level.

Synthesis of the Altertoxin I Framework

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Organic Chemistry, Volume 27, Issue 3, January 15, 2024.
The core of the perylenequinone‐derived mycotoxin altertoxin I was synthesized either from 3‐hydroxyacetophenone or from 1,5‐dihydroxynaphthalene, where Suzuki couplings, Ullmann couplings, McMurry olefinations, and Friedel‐Crafts acetylation were key steps in the respective syntheses.

Different effects of single and fractionated light delivery regimes in photodynamic therapy with hypericin on HT-29 cells in vitro [PDF]

open access: yes, 2009
Photodynamic therapy (PDT) is an alternative cancer cure which involves the selective uptake and retention of a photosensitizer in a cancer tissue, followed by irradiation with light of a specific wavelength to kill tumour cells via the production of ...

Quantitative and Site-Directed Chemical Modification of Hypocrellins toward Direct Drug Delivery and Effective Photodynamic Activity

open access: yes, 2016
For photodynamic therapy (PDT) treatment of microvascular diseases, drugs are delivered via blood circulation and the targets are vasculature endothelial cells, for which the contradictory requirements of hydrophilicity and lipophilicity of the drugs ...
