The risk factors of inpatient hypoglycemia: A systematic review
Hypoglycemia is an important and harmful complication of Diabetes Mellitus (DM) that often occurs in inpatient or outpatient settings. Hypoglycemia can be divided into two types, i.e.

Coacervation driven by liquid‐liquid phase separation (LLPS) of biopolymers has garnered increasing attention in biology since this leads to the formation of membraneless organelles capable of performing essential yet largely unknown functions. This review highlights recent advances in coacervates (artificial condensates) composed of low‐molecular ...

Bayesian Optimization Assisted Meal Bolus Decision Based on Gaussian Processes Learning and Risk-Sensitive Control [PDF]
Effective postprandial glucose control is important to glucose management for subjects with diabetes mellitus. In this work, a data-driven meal bolus decision method is proposed without the need of subject-specific glucose management parameters. The postprandial glucose dynamics is learnt using Gaussian process regression.

Schematic illustration of the mechanism of targeted delivery of nanoparticles including 1) paracellular, 2) endolysosomal escape, 3) receptor mediated endocytosis, and 4) M cell mediated transport for non‐GI diseases by oral administration such as atherosclerosis, cancer, diabetes, and brain diseases. Abstract Oral drug delivery is a promising approach

Persistent level 1 hypoglycemia due to hypothyroidism and underlying Neurofibromatosis type 1
Key Clinical Message Hypoglycemia in non‐diabetic patients is rare and may be due to various etiologies. It is important to recognize hypoglycemia early and appropriately manage hypoglycemia in patients with neurofibromatosis 1 and hypothyroidism ...

Intermittent Control for Safe Long-Acting Insulin Intensification for Type 2 Diabetes: In-Silico Experiment [PDF]
Around a third of type 2 diabetes patients (T2D) are escalated to basal insulin injections. Basal insulin dose is titrated to achieve a tight glycemic target without undue hypoglycemic risk. In the standard of care (SoC), titration is based on intermittent fasting blood glucose (FBG) measurements.

Central Mechanisms of Glucose Sensing and Counterregulation in Defense of Hypoglycemia.
Glucose homeostasis requires an organism to rapidly respond to changes in plasma glucose concentrations. Iatrogenic hypoglycemia as a result of treatment with insulin or sulfonylureas is the most common cause of hypoglycemia in humans and is generally ...
