Tumbling Magnetic Microrobots for Targeted In Vivo Drug Delivery in the GI Tract
Advanced Robotics Research, EarlyView. We introduce a microrobot design and integrated system for on‐demand targeted drug release in the gastrointestinal tract. The microrobot has an embedded magnet for actuation with external magnetic fields and is visualized in real time using ultrasound. It has two drug release ports sealed with a thermally sensitive wax. Local heating of the wax using a Aaron C. Davis, Luis Carlos Sanjuan Acosta, Shubh P. Mehta, Baiyan Qi, Yang Yang, Luis Solorio, Craig J. Goergen, David J. Advanced Science, EarlyView.A real‐world model of structured animal product restriction practiced for religious reasons reveals the dynamic adaptability of the human gut microbiome to dietary change and uncovers reductions in diversity and rare taxa loss. Integrated microbiome, metabolomic, and proteomic analyses uncover coordinated taxonomic and molecular shifts and identify ...Christina Emmanouil, Maria Anezaki, Alexandros Simistiras, Stavros Glentis, Nikolaos Scarmeas, Pantelis Hatzis, Konstantinos Rouskas, Antigone S. Advanced Science, EarlyView.A healthy gut barrier shields underlying fibroblasts from luminal shear forces, illustrating that “good fences make good neighbors.” Barrier damage exposes fibroblasts to shear stress, inducing cell death and the emergence of stress‐adapted, profibrotic fibroblasts. Sustained shear exposure promotes the formation of stiff aggregates of mechanoadapative Soyoun Min, Nam Than, Yong Cheol Shin, Elif G. Ertugral, Chandrasekhar R. Advanced Science, EarlyView. This study reveals how alternating high‐fat and polysaccharide diets reshape the human gut virome and enhance phage‐bacteria interactions. Using large‐scale metagenomic meta‐analysis and a time‐resolved mouse model, the authors show that diets strongly modulate phage abundance, lifestyle, and gene exchange, offering new insights into nutrition‐guided ...Fengxiang Zhao, Ruiqi Zhang, Rujun Wei, Huimin Fan, Yongfei Hu, Wenyu Shi, Jinfeng Wang +6 morewiley +1 more sourceEvolution of the Reactor Antineutrino Flux and Spectrum at Daya Bay

Advanced Science, EarlyView. This study reveals that maternal antibiotic exposure prior to conception disrupts intergenerational gut microbial succession. By enhancing maternal‐offspring microbial transmission, altering microbial developmental trajectories and increasing selective pressures during community assembly, these disturbances lead to persistent gut mucosal immaturity and Yuzhu Chen, Ruqiao Duan, Cunzheng Zhang, Gaonan Li, XiaoLin Ji, Qi Zhang, Fei Pei, Kun Wang, Liping Duan +8 morewiley +1 more source
