From Berzelius to Hyperspace: Previously Unrecognized Network of Reactivity in Textbook Brominations

open access: yesAngewandte Chemie, EarlyView.
Robotic scans across multidimensional condition spaces of classic bromination reactions uncover regions of previously unrecognized reactivity, yielding new major products and novel substitution patterns. Correlation and anticorrelation analyses of product distributions across these hyperspaces enable reconstruction of the underlying mechanistic ...

The level and prevalence of depression and anxiety among patients with different subtypes of irritable bowel syndrome: a network meta-analysis

open access: yesBMC Gastroenterology, 2021
Background Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is a very common functional bowel disorder. However, the difference of depression and anxiety comorbidities among different IBS subtypes is still not well evaluated.

Psychometric assessment of the IBS-D Daily Symptom Diary and Symptom Event Log [PDF]

open access: yesQuality of Life Research, 2016
Diarrhea-predominant irritable bowel syndrome (IBS-D) can considerably impact patients' lives. Patient-reported symptoms are crucial in understanding the diagnosis and progression of IBS-D. This study psychometrically evaluates the newly developed IBS-D Daily Symptom Diary and Symptom Event Log (hereafter, "Event Log") according to US regulatory ...

Differences in the Plasma Bile Acid‐Gut Microbiota Axis Between IBS‐D and IBS‐C

open access: yes
Background Irritable bowel syndrome with constipation (IBS‐C) and diarrhea (IBS‐D) exhibit highly divergent clinical manifestations. This study aims to investigate the correlation between IBS‐C and IBS‐D.

Spatiotemporal Thermal Modulation and Patterning using a Programmable 1024 Element Microheater Array

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Programmable microheater arrays are essential for a variety of applications. However, large arrays have thus far not been realized. We introduce a programmable 32×$\times$32 microheater array consisting of heating elements – each smaller than 300 μm$\umu{\rm m}$.

Structural Basis of Lymphangiogenic Receptor VEGFR‐3 Activation Mediated by Distinctive Clustering of the Ligand–Receptor Complex

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
VEGF‐C and its receptor VEGFR‐3 are critical for lymphangiogenesis. Cryo‐EM structures of the VEGFR‐3/VEGF‐C ectodomain complex reveal a canonical 2:2 ligand–receptor hetero‐tetramer that further assembles into higher‐order clusters beyond simple receptor dimerization.
