Time‐restricted feeding (TRF) in mice increased liver fatty acid oxidation and decreased fatty acid biosynthesis. These alterations persisted when TRF was discontinued and the host was infected with Mycobacterium tuberculosis. Pre‐exposure to TRF did not alter tissue (lung and spleen) mycobacterial burden but significantly reduced CD3+ T cells in lungs

The effect of landfast sea ice buttressing on ice dynamic speedup in the Larsen B embayment, Antarctica [PDF]
We observe the evacuation of 11-year-old landfast sea ice in the Larsen B embayment on the East Antarctic Peninsula in January 2022, which was in part triggered by warm atmospheric conditions and strong offshore winds.

On the dynamics of the ice sheets
A similarity solution of the equation that describes the time evolution of an ice sheet is obtained by separation of variables. It describes the motion of an initial δ function ice sheet distribution and is asymptotically stable with respect to all perturbations that leave the total volume invariant. Homogeneity in one horizontal direction is assumed.

Molecular characterization of covRS mutations in M1UK Streptococcus pyogenes
Group A Streptococcus (GAS) acquires covRS mutations driving a hypervirulent bacterial state, frequently associated with invasive disease‐like necrotizing fasciitis. We demonstrate that the newly emerged M1UK GAS lineage can also acquire these mutations.

Cutaneous Melanoma Drives Metabolic Changes in the Aged Bone Marrow Immune Microenvironment
Melanoma, the deadliest form of skin cancer, increasingly affects older adults. Our study reveals that melanoma induces changes in iron and lipid levels in the bone marrow, impacting immune cell populations and increasing susceptibility to ferroptosis.

Molecular dynamics of ice-active solutions at ice–water interfaces
Small molecules that interact strongly with water were the subject of this molecular dynamics (MD) study. These solutes include a cryoprotectant (DMSO), a polyalcohol [CH2(OH)2], carboxylic acid conjugates (HCOOH and HCOONa), an ammonium salt (NH4Cl), and two alkyl halide salts (NaCl and NaF).

ALDOA Promotes Glycolysis and NLRP3/GSDMD Pyroptosis to Accelerate ALS Progression
ABSTRACT Objective Amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS) is characterized by progressive motor neuron degeneration. Glycolytic dysregulation is implicated in disease progression, yet the underlying mechanisms remain unclear. This study investigates how Aldolase A (ALDOA) drives ALS progression through glycolysis‐mediated motor neuron pyroptosis.

Aquaporin‐4 in Narcolepsy Type 1: Investigation of Perivascular Fluid Movement in Sleep Disorders
ABSTRACT Narcolepsy type 1 (NT1) is caused by the loss of hypocretin‐1 leading to excessive daytime sleepiness and cataplexy. Additionally, disrupted nighttime sleep has become an increasingly recognized feature of NT1. As the glymphatic fluid movement has been linked to sleep architecture, we investigated cerebrospinal fluid (CSF) Aquaporin‐4 (AQP4 ...

ABSTRACT Objective Facioscapulohumeral muscular dystrophy (FSHD) is one of the most debilitating and common muscular dystrophies. Despite its severity, no approved therapy exists for FSHD patients. However, several therapeutic candidates are currently under development, and some have recently entered clinical trials, marking the need for reliable ...
