Engineered extracellular vesicles enriched with the miR‐214/199a cluster enhance the efficacy of chemotherapy in ovarian cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Loss of the miR‐214/199a cluster is associated with recurrence in ovarian cancer. Engineered small extracellular vesicles (m214‐sEVs) elevate miR‐214‐3p/miR‐199a‐5p in tumor cells, suppress β‐catenin, TLR4, and YKT6 signaling, reprogram tumor‐derived sEV cargo, reduce chemoresistance and migration, and enhance carboplatin efficacy and survival in ...

Dynamics of magnetic charges in artificial spin ice

open access: yes, 2010
Artificial spin ice has been recently implemented in two-dimensional arrays of mesoscopic magnetic wires. We propose a theoretical model of magnetization dynamics in artificial spin ice under the action of an applied magnetic field.

Targeting TNBC: core–shell polycationic polyurea dendrimers with inherent anticancer activity

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Core–shell polycationic PURE dendrimers were tested in TNBC‐derived tumor models. Both formulations selectively targeted TNBC and effectively reduced tumor volume. PUREG4‐OEI48 suppressed tumor growth without detectable toxicity, whereas PUREG4‐OCEI24, despite showing efficacy, induced hepatic toxicity.

Role of quantum nuclei and local fields in the x-ray absorption spectra of water and ice

open access: yes, 2012
We calculate the x-ray absorption spectra of liquid water at ambient conditions and of hexagonal ice close to melting, using a static GW approach that includes approximately local field effects.

ATP13A2 is involved in intracellular polyamine transport in lung epithelial cells

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Spermidine transport in lung epithelial cells involves the polyamine transporter ATP13A2. Cell proliferation is associated with the upregulation of ATP13A2. Polyamines are present in all living cells and are implicated in various crucial cellular processes such as proliferation, apoptosis and autophagy.

Ice and Permafrost Effects on Delta Morphology and Channel Dynamics

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters, 2019
Arctic regions are changing rapidly as permafrost thaws and sea ice retreats. These changes directly affect Arctic river deltas, but how permafrost and ice alter delta hydrology and sediment transport are not well researched.

Photodesorption of water ice: a molecular dynamics study

open access: yes, 2008
Absorption of ultraviolet radiation by water ice coating interstellar grains can lead to dissociation and desorption of the ice molecules. These processes are thought to be important in the gas-grain chemistry in molecular clouds and protoplanetary disks,

FGFR Like1 drives esophageal cancer progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and notch signalling: insights from clinical data and next‐generation sequencing analysis

open access: yesFEBS Open Bio, EarlyView.
Clinical analysis reveals significant dysregulation of FGFRL1 in esophageal cancer (EC) patients. RNAi‐coupled next‐generation sequencing (NGS) and in vitro study reveal FGFRL1‐mediated EC progression via EMT, PI3K/Akt, and Notch pathways. Functional assays confirm its role in tumor growth, migration, and invasion.

Deep Neural Network Based Scale‐Adaptive Cloud Vertical Overlap Parameterization

open access: yesGeophysical Research Letters
Cloud vertical overlap has important implications for cloud radiative effects in climate models. Due to its spatiotemporal complexity, it is difficult to simulate cloud overlap in climate models.
