Normal modes of a coupled ice-shelf/sub-ice-shelf cavity system [PDF]
AbstractIce shelves and ice tongues are dynamically coupled to their cavities. Here we compute normal modes (eigenfrequencies and eigenfunctions) of this coupled system using a thin-plate approximation for the ice shelf and potential water flow in the ice-shelf cavity.

ABSTRACT Glacial erratics are geologically distinctive rocks transported away from their source area by ice sheets and deposited in lithologically different bedrock areas. They have attracted much scientific curiosity with >24 000 observations across the British Isles.

ABSTRACT Chronologic and geomorphic evidence of past glaciations is largely recorded in areas at relatively low elevation and/or landscapes defined by high glacial erosion. As a result, data from areas that did not experience significant glacial erosion and the highest elevation locations are lacking from reconstructions of past ice masses.

Multi‐million‐year evolution of the Greenland Ice Sheet in Inglefield Land, North Greenland
ABSTRACT Information on past sensitivity of the Greenland Ice Sheet to climate change is of importance for optimizing models simulating the future evolution of ice mass loss. While the ice‐sheet change during the Lateglacial and Holocene is relatively well constrained, the long‐term (multi‐million‐year) evolution of the Greenland Ice Sheet remains ...

Stability of the Junction of an Ice Sheet and an Ice Shelf [PDF]
An analysis is made of the steady-state size of a two-dimensional ice sheet whose base is below sea-level and which terminates in floating ice shelves. Under the assumption of perfect plasticity it is found that an ice sheet placed on a bed whose surface was initially flat cannot exist if the depth of the bed below sea-level exceeds a critical depth ...

Abstract The Arctic Ocean exports a large amount of terrestrial dissolved organic matter (DOM) to the Nordic seas. With climate change, the supply of terrestrial DOM from the Arctic Ocean will increase while less sea ice might lead to an increased loss of terrestrial DOM due to photodegradation.

Seasonal and diurnal variability of sub-ice platelet layer thickness in McMurdo Sound from electromagnetic induction sounding [PDF]
Here, we present observations of temporal variability of sub-ice platelet layer over seasonal and diurnal timescales under Ice Shelf Water-influenced fast ice in McMurdo Sound.
