Integrated genomic and proteomic profiling reveals insights into chemoradiation resistance in cervical cancer

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
A comprehensive genomic and proteomic analysis of cervical cancer revealed STK11 and STX3 as a potential biomarkers of chemoradiation resistance. Our study demonstrated EGFR as a therapeutic target, paving the way for precision strategies to overcome treatment failure and the DNA repair pathway as a critical mechanism of resistance.

CO2 Infrared Spectra on Silicate Dust Grain Analogs: Implications for JWST Observations

open access: yesThe Astrophysical Journal Letters
Carbon dioxide is one of the three most abundant species within the ice mantles around dust grains inside molecular clouds. Since a substantial number of interstellar grains are made of siliceous materials, we have studied the infrared profile of CO _2 ...

Single particle ICP-TOFMS on previously characterised EGRIP ice core samples: new approaches, limitations, and challenges [PDF]

open access: yesThe Cryosphere
Polar ice contains chemical impurities, which can be used as a proxy for the past climate, using state-of-the-art chemical methods. Despite its capability to access critical physicochemical parameters of insoluble particles, such as number concentration,

Boron Nitride Nanomesh: A template for Nano-ice

open access: yes, 2009
Using variable temperature scanning tunneling microscopy and dI/dz barrier height spectroscopy, the structure of water on h-BN/Rh(111) nanomesh has been investigated. Below its desorption temperature, two distinct phases of water self-assemble within the

A synthetic benzoxazine dimer derivative targets c‐Myc to inhibit colorectal cancer progression

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Benzoxazine dimer derivatives bind to the bHLH‐LZ region of c‐Myc, disrupting c‐Myc/MAX complexes, which are evaluated from SAR analysis. This increases ubiquitination and reduces cellular c‐Myc. Impairing DNA repair mechanisms is shown through proteomic analysis.

Modelling light scattering by absorbing smooth and slightly rough facetted particles [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
A method for approximating light scattering properties of strongly absorbing facetted particles which are large compared to the wavelength is presented.

CDK11 inhibition induces cytoplasmic p21WAF1 splice variant by p53 stabilisation and SF3B1 inactivation

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
CDK11 inhibition stabilises the tumour suppressor p53 and triggers the production of an alternative p21WAF1 splice variant p21L, through the inactivation of the spliceosomal protein SF3B1. Unlike the canonical p21WAF1 protein, p21L is localised in the cytoplasm and has reduced cell cycle‐blocking activity.

Enhancing Icephobic Coatings: Exploring the Potential of Dopamine-Modified Epoxy Resin Inspired by Mussel Catechol Groups

open access: yesBiomimetics
A nature-inspired approach was employed through the development of dopamine-modified epoxy coating for anti-icing applications. The strong affinity of dopamine’s catechol groups for hydrogen bonding with water molecules at the ice/coating interface was ...

Characterization of individual ice residual particles by the single droplet freezing method: a case study in the Asian dust outflow region [PDF]

open access: yesAtmospheric Chemistry and Physics, 2018
In order to better characterize ice nucleating (IN) aerosol particles in the atmosphere, we investigated the chemical composition, mixing state, and morphology of atmospheric aerosols that nucleate ice under conditions relevant for mixed-phase clouds.

The Use of Ultrasound in Shaping the Properties of Ice Cream with Oleogel Based on Oil Extracted from Tomato Seeds

open access: yesApplied Sciences, 2022
In this study, the possibility of using ultrasound technology as an alternative to traditional pasteurization and homogenization in ice cream production was presented. Three types of ice cream with different proportions of oleogel (5, 6, and 7%) prepared
