Semantic frame induction through the detection of communities of verbs and their arguments

open access: yesApplied Network Science, 2020
Resources such as FrameNet, which provide sets of semantic frame definitions and annotated textual data that maps into the evoked frames, are important for several NLP tasks.

To ID or Not to ID

open access: yes, 2015
“And now can I have the last four digits of your Social? Then we’ll both know each other.” A cloud of anger swept over me. I glanced up from my computer, blinked, and then elected to continue with my work.

Transcriptional network analysis of PTEN‐protein‐deficient prostate tumors reveals robust stromal reprogramming and signs of senescent paracrine communication

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Combining PTEN protein assessment and transcriptomic profiling of prostate tumors, we uncovered a network enriched in senescence and extracellular matrix (ECM) programs associated with PTEN loss and conserved in a mouse model. We show that PTEN‐deficient cells trigger paracrine remodeling of the surrounding stroma and this information could help ...

Adaptations to iron deficiency: cardiac functional responsiveness to norepinephrine, arterial remodeling, and the effect of beta-blockade on cardiac hypertrophy. [PDF]

open access: yes, 2002
BackgroundIron deficiency (ID) results in ventricular hypertrophy, believed to involve sympathetic stimulation. We hypothesized that with ID 1) intravenous norepinephrine would alter heart rate (HR) and contractility, 2) abdominal aorta would be larger ...

Plecstatin inhibits hepatocellular carcinoma tumorigenesis and invasion through cytolinker plectin

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
The ruthenium‐based metallodrug plecstatin exerts its anticancer effect in hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) primarily through selective targeting of plectin. By disrupting plectin‐mediated cytoskeletal organization, plecstatin inhibits anchorage‐dependent growth, cell polarization, and tumor cell dissemination.

Classification System for Soil Types Suitable for Food Crops using Naïve Bayes Method

open access: yesSistemasi: Jurnal Sistem Informasi
Agriculture in Indonesia, especially in Aceh, plays a central role in supporting the economy and food security. The success of agriculture is greatly influenced by the selection of appropriate soil types.

Analysis of pressure variation of fluid in bounded circular reservoirs under the “No Flow” outer boundary condition

open access: yesJournal of Applied Sciences and Environmental Management, 2017
Predicting the pressure at the wellbore in bounded circular reservoir has been the hub in the study of Reservoir Engineering. Predicting the pressures outside the reservoir was not an easy task.

Maximal commutative subrings and simplicity of Ore extensions

open access: yes, 2012
The aim of this article is to describe necessary and sufficient conditions for simplicity of Ore extension rings, with an emphasis on differential polynomial rings. We show that a differential polynomial ring, R[x;id,\delta], is simple if and only if its

Infrared laser sampling of low volumes combined with shotgun lipidomics reveals lipid markers in palatine tonsil carcinoma

open access: yesMolecular Oncology, EarlyView.
Nanosecond infrared laser (NIRL) low‐volume sampling combined with shotgun lipidomics uncovers distinct lipidome alterations in oropharyngeal squamous cell carcinoma (OPSCC) of the palatine tonsil. Several lipid species consistently differentiate tumor from healthy tissue, highlighting their potential as diagnostic markers.

Person Re-Identification by Deep Joint Learning of Multi-Loss Classification

open access: yes, 2017
Existing person re-identification (re-id) methods rely mostly on either localised or global feature representation alone. This ignores their joint benefit and mutual complementary effects.
