Venetoclax combined with cladribine, idarubicin, cytarabine (CLIA‐VEN) results in higher remission rates over conventional 7 + 3 chemotherapy without increased toxicity in newly diagnosed acute myeloid leukaemia

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
Summary Induction chemotherapy in fit de novo acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) patients has historically combined an anthracycline with standard‐dose cytarabine (‘7 + 3’) despite complete response (CR) rates of 50%–70%. In May 2023, our institution adopted the utilization of cladribine, cytarabine, idarubicin and venetoclax (CLIA‐VEN) for intensive ...

On $H$-simple not necessarily associative algebras

open access: yes, 2018
An algebra A with a generalized H-action is a generalization of an H-module algebra where H is just an associative algebra with 1 and a relaxed compatibility condition between the multiplication in A and the H-action on A holds.

Comorbidities and mutations including single‐ and multihit TET2 mutations in relation to outcome in chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia—A population‐based study

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
In a population‐based cohort of 149 chronic myelomonocytic leukaemia (CMML) patients, multihit TET2 mutation was associated with older age, lower LDH and less leucocytosis. We found no association with autoimmune disease or thrombosis. Patients with multihit TET2 mutation had a significantly longer overall survival than the patients without or with one

Selective small molecule targeting of KDM4 as a therapeutic strategy to reduce proliferation of acute myeloid leukaemia

open access: yesBritish Journal of Haematology, EarlyView.
Summary Acute myeloid leukaemia (AML) is an aggressive disease with poor survival and high relapse rates. Coupled with the complex mutational burden observed, there is an unmet clinical need for more targeted therapies. Epigenetic therapies have shown promise both as monotherapy and in combination strategies and specifically histone lysine demethylase,

Immunohistochemistry as a tool for identifying EGFR amplification in CNS tumors

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
EGFR gene amplification constitutes a diagnostic hallmark for glioblastoma, IDH‐wildtype (GB, IDH‐WT). Herein, we demonstrated that EGFR IHC is a highly specific and sensitive biomarker for identifying EGFR amplification and should be part of the neuropathologist's routine panel of antibodies.

Integrated high‐resolution copy number and histomolecular analysis of diffuse hemispheric glioma, H3 G34‐mutant reveals universal TP53 abnormalities

open access: yesBrain Pathology, EarlyView.
This integrated high‐resolution copy number and histomolecular analysis of diffuse hemispheric glioma, H3 G34‐mutant expands the spectrum of associated genetic changes and underscores the presence of universal TP53 abnormalities at copy number, sequence, and protein expression level, with frequent yet largely unrecognized TP53 copy‐neutral loss of ...

Ontogeny of escape response and body shape in threespine stickleback (Gasterosteus aculeatus L.)

open access: yesJournal of Fish Biology, EarlyView.
Abstract Escape responses in fishes provide insight into accelerative motions and behavioural response times of these animals, linking numerous fitness‐related traits. We sought to connect escape response performance to genotype and phenotype across ontogenetic stages within a single population of threespine stickleback (Gasterosteus aculeatus L.) to ...
