The Prognostic and Clinicopathological Significance of IGF-1R in NSCLC: a Meta-Analysis

open access: yesCellular Physiology and Biochemistry, 2017
Background/Aims: Accumulating studies have reported that IGF-1R (Insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor) is aberrantly expressed in NSCLC (non-small cell lung cancer), but the role of IGF-1R in NSCLC remains controversial.

Efficacy, safety and cost‐effectiveness of CAR‐T therapy

open access: yesBritish Journal of Clinical Pharmacology, EarlyView.
CAR T‐cells demonstrate high efficacy in blood cancers, including ALL, MM and DLBCL. Innovations target solid tumours despite challenges such as antigen escape. Combination therapies enhance the delivery and infiltration of CAR T cells. Toxicity, cost and resistance remain major barriers to clinical use.

Knockdown of IGF-1R Triggers Viral RNA Sensor MDA5- and RIG-I-Mediated Mitochondrial Apoptosis in Colonic Cancer Cells

open access: yesMolecular Therapy: Nucleic Acids, 2019
The important role of insulin-like growth factor-1 receptor (IGF-1R) in tumorigenesis has been well established. The classical model involves IGF-1R binding to IGF-1/2, the following activation of PI3K-Akt-signaling cascades, driving cell proliferation ...

Insulin growth factor 1 like receptor (IGF-1R) [PDF]

open access: yesBMC Cancer, 2016
BACKGROUND: The epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR) is frequently overexpressed in head and neck squamous cell carcinoma (HNSCC) and several other human cancers. Monoclonal antibodies, such as cetuximab that block EGFR signaling, have emerged as valuable molecular targeting agents in clinical cancer therapy.

Insulin‐like growth factor 1 receptor correlates with verbal memory in ILAE type 2 hippocampal sclerosis

open access: yesEpilepsia, EarlyView.
Abstract Objective Long‐term memory deficits are often seen in patients with temporal lobe epilepsy (TLE). Recently, studies showed that patients with hippocampal sclerosis (HS) type 2, which presents with severe neuron loss in CA1 only, performed within the normal range. However, up to 30% of HS type 2 cases have memory deficits.

Combinational Therapy Enhances the Effects of Anti-IGF-1R mAb Figitumumab to Target Small Cell Lung Cancer. [PDF]

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2015
Small cell lung cancer (SCLC) is a recalcitrant malignancy with distinct biologic properties. Antibody targeting therapy has been actively investigated as a new drug modality. We tested the expression of IGF-1R and calculated the survival in 61 SCLC ...

New insights into epileptic spasm generation and treatment from the TTX animal model

open access: yesEpilepsia Open, EarlyView.
Abstract Currently, we have an incomplete understanding of the mechanisms underlying infantile epileptic spasms syndrome (IESS). However, over the past decade, significant efforts have been made to develop IESS animal models to provide much‐needed mechanistic information for therapy development.

MiR-223 Suppresses Cell Proliferation by Targeting IGF-1R

open access: yesPLoS ONE, 2011
To study the roles of microRNA-223 (miR-223) in regulation of cell growth, we established a miR-223 over-expression model in HeLa cells infected with miR-223 by Lentivirus pLL3.7 system. We observed in this model that miR-223 significantly suppressed the proliferation, growth rate, colony formation of HeLa cells in vitro, and in vivo tumorigenicity or ...
