Two Trapping Systems to Determine Incidence and Duration of Migration of Adult Alfalfa Weevils, \u3ci\u3eHypera Postica\u3c/i\u3e (Coleoptera: Curculionidae) [PDF]
Emergence and flight traps were used to study the pre- and post-diapause movements of the alfalfa weevil, Hypera postica. The emergence traps proved to be an excellent tool in determining the time of diapause termination and in providing an accurate ...

The enigmatic role of IL-38 in inflammatory diseases
IL-38 is the most recently discovered cytokine of the IL-1 family and is considered a potential inhibitor of the IL-1 and Toll-like receptor families. IL-38 exerts anti-inflammatory properties, especially on macrophages, by inhibiting secretion of pro-inflammatory cytokines, leading to reduced T-lymphocyte TH17 maturation.

IL-36 Receptor Antagonist with Special Emphasis on IL-38
IL-36 is another family member of IL-1 and induces the production of proinflammatory cytokines and activates MAPK and NFκB pathways. IL-36 is a common mediator of innate and adaptive immune response and is inhibited by IL-36 receptor antagonist (RA). IL-36RA acts on IL-36 receptor ligand which exerts proinflammatory effect in vivo and in vitro.

Serum IL-38 levels in patients with type 2 diabetes mellitus
Interleukin 38 (IL-38) is a new member of the IL-1 family, and it has anti-inflammatory activity. However, its role in type 2 diabetes mellitus (T2DM) has not been reported. The study included 40 T2DM patients and 42 healthy control subjects. The anthropometric and biochemical measurements were performed using an automatic biochemical analyser, high ...

Clinical implications of the novel cytokine IL-38 expressed in lung adenocarcinoma: Possible association with PD-L1 expression. [PDF]
Interleukin (IL)-38, a novel member of the IL-1 cytokine family, is homologous to IL-1 receptor antagonist (IL-1Ra) and IL-36Ra, and has been reported to act as an antagonist.

Attenuated Airway Eosinophilic Inflammations in IL-38 Knockout Mouse Model
The role of IL-38, a new member of the IL-1 family, in airway eosinophilic inflammatory conditions such as asthma is unclear. To investigate the role of IL-38 in airway eosinophilic inflammation, an IL-38-gene deficient (KO) murine asthma model was analyzed. The numbers of eosinophils and neutrophils, and levels of IL-5, IL-13 and IL-17A protein and ...

The severity of imiquimod-induced mouse skin inflammation is independent of endogenous IL-38 expression. [PDF]
The IL-1 cytokine family includes eleven members, among which Il-36α, β and γ, IL-36Ra and IL-38. The IL-36 cytokines are involved in the pathogenesis of psoriasis.
