Analysis of interleukin 6 (IL-6)/IL-6 receptor system using monoclonal anti-IL-6 antibodies
Molecular Immunology, 1991To investigate the IL-6/IL-6 receptor system, we obtained five murine monoclonal antibodies against human IL-6, which neutralize its biological activity. We classified them into two groups (Type I mAb and Type II mAb) according to the epitopes they recognized. These two types of antibodies showed no difference in the manner in which they neutralized IL-

Autism is a severe neurodevelopmental disorder characterized by impairments in social interaction, deficits in verbal and non-verbal communication, and repetitive behavior and restricted interests. Emerging evidence suggests that aberrant neuroimmune responses may contribute to phenotypic deficits and could be appropriate targets for pharmacologic ...

IL-6 receptor expression and IL-6 effects change during osteoblast differentiation
Cytokine, 2008Studies of the effects of interleukin-6 on osteoblasts have yielded conflicting results. In several earlier in vitro studies it has been stated that IL-6 has no effects on osteoblasts unless soluble IL-6 receptor is added. These results are contradictory to the fact that IL-6 receptors are expressed in osteoblasts in vivo.

Nihon rinsho. Japanese journal of clinical medicine, 2016
Interleukin-6 (IL-6) plays an important role in the pathogenesis of rheumatoid arthritis (RA). Tocilizumab, anti-human IL-6 receptor monoclonal antibody developed in Japan, prevents IL-6 from binding to IL-6 receptor blocking IL-6 signal. The clinical and radiographic efficacy of tocilizumab has proved in many clinical studies.
