IL-8 and cancer prognosis on immunotherapy

Nature Medicine, 2020
Interleukin-8, produced by intratumoral and circulating myeloid cells, correlates with an immunosuppressive myeloid-enriched tumor microenvironment and adverse cancer prognosis.

Circulating IL-8 and anti-IL-8 autoantibody in patients with ovarian cancer

Gynecologic Oncology, 2006
In an ongoing effort to identify diagnostic ovarian cancer biomarkers, SEREX (serological analysis of recombinant cDNA expression libraries) technique was employed resulting in detection of 20 known genes, nine ESTs and one novel sequence. Interleukin-8 (IL-8) was one of ovarian cancer-associated antigens identified by SEREX screening. The objective of

The expression of IL-8 and IL-8 receptors in pancreatic adenocarcinomas and pancreatic neuroendocrine tumours

Cytokine, 2010
Inflammatory mediators influence tumour progression. IL-8 has been shown to have pro-angiogenic, mitogenic and motogenic effects and several studies have demonstrated the expression of IL-8 by various human pancreatic cancer cell lines. The expression of IL-8 and IL-8 receptors was studied in 52 pancreatic adenocarcinomas and 52 pancreatic ...

Targeting IL-8 in colorectal cancer

Expert Opinion on Therapeutic Targets, 2012
Colorectal cancer is the leading cause of death from gastrointestinal malignancy in the US. Chemokines and their receptors are being recognized as key regulators of cancers and increasingly as therapeutic targets for metastatic cancers, including colorectal cancer.

Behind the IL-8 ball in prostate cancer

Nature Cancer, 2021
Prostate cancer is largely unresponsive to immunotherapy. A new study finds elevated expression of the chemokine IL-8, or its mouse homolog Cxcl15, in prostate cancer after castration, which leads to the recruitment of immunosuppressive myeloid cells.

Specific binding of IL-8 to rabbit α -macroglobulin modulates IL-8 function in the lung

Inflammation Research, 2000
The purpose of this study was to compare chemotactic activity of IL-8 alone with that of IL-8 reacted with rabbit alpha-macroglobulins (alphaM) in vivo.Initially the binding of recombinant human IL-8 (rhIL-8) to rabbit alphaM was studied. 125I-labeled rhIL-8 was incubated with alphaM, and electrophoresed on native 5% gels or SDS-polyacrylamide 4-20 ...

Regulation of the expression of IL-8 receptor A/B by IL-8: possible functions of each receptor

The Journal of Immunology, 1995
Abstract We investigated the regulatory mechanism of the expression of IL-8R, IL-8R type A (IL-8RA), and IL-8R type B (IL-8RB) on human neutrophils by IL-8. The expression of IL-8RA/B was analyzed by flow cytometry using mAb specific for each receptor. IL-8 down-modulated > 90% of IL-8RA and IL-8RB expression within 5 min.
