Preservation of positive emotion recognition in patients with multiple sclerosis: Artefact related to methodological issues or real feature of the disorder?

open access: yesJournal of Neuropsychology, EarlyView.
Abstract Prior studies in multiple sclerosis (MS) suggest preserved recognition of positive emotions despite deficits for negative ones, but this dissociation may reflect methodological limitations (valence‐asymmetry: positive‐valence being limited to happiness/joy in basic‐emotion sets). This study tested whether emotion–recognition deficits in MS are

Cytoarchitecture and myeloarchitecture of the sheep auditory cortex

open access: yesJournal of Anatomy, EarlyView.
This article describes the cyto‐ and myeloarchitecture of the sheep auditory cortex. It outlines a six‐layered cortical organization, with variations in cellular types and densities. The potential location of the primary auditory cortex is indicated by parvalbumin immunostaining.

Epitypification of Merismopedia tranquilla (Cyanobacteria) prompts phylogenetic reassessment of the genus and the description of two morphologically similar genera

open access: yesJournal of Phycology, EarlyView.
Abstract The genus Merismopedia is morphologically characterized by its distinctive colony arrangement yet exhibits considerable variability among species. Recent studies suggested that Merismopedia is polyphyletic, and its most likely true lineage was provisionally placed within the Microcystaceae. However, the available molecular data for most of the

Is sleep affected after microgravity and hypergravity exposure? A pilot study

open access: yesJournal of Sleep Research, Volume 34, Issue 2, April 2025.
Summary Sleep is known to be affected in space travel and in residents of the international space station. But little is known about the direct effects of gravity changes on sleep, if other factors, such as sleep conditions, are kept constant. Here, as a first exploration, we investigated sleep before and after exposure to short bouts of microgravity ...
