An unexpected alternative viologen electron mediator site in tungsten‐containing formate dehydrogenase

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
An unexpected alternative interaction site for ethyl viologen was identified in formate dehydrogenase 1 from Methylorubrum extorquens. Combined mutagenesis, kinetic analysis, and docking revealed that aromatic residues near an iron–sulfur cluster enable flavin mononucleotide‐independent electron transfer, offering a framework for engineering improved ...

Social Modulation of Imitation in Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder: Evidence from EEG and Reciprocal Imitation Training

open access: yesApplied Sciences
Imitation is crucial for social learning, yet children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) often show atypical imitation abilities. To probe the neural dynamics that precede overt imitation, electroencephalography (EEG)—with a focus on α (8–12 Hz) and β (

Cell geometry and membrane protein crowding constrain Escherichia coli growth rate, overflow metabolism, respiration, and maintenance energy

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
The physical dimensions and shape of bacterial cells define the surface area available to acquire nutrients and the volume available for synthesizing proteins and DNA. Here, we use computational systems biology to decode the importance of cell geometry as a major determinant of prokaryotic phenotype, including growth rate and metabolic efficiency. This

TEXT-STYLISTIC REPLICATION AS A BASIC CATEGORY OF MODERN ADVERTISING

open access: yesВестник Кемеровского государственного университета, 2017
This article describes a special type of advertising texts characterized by a text-stylistic replication. This property of text implies an intentional imitation of the original source by preserving its typical distinctive feature that depends on the type

Salmonella lipopolysaccharide‐containing supported lipid bilayers as platforms to study bacteriophage interactions

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
We present robust protocols for the preparation of supported lipid bilayers (SLBs) incorporating either Salmonella smooth LPS or outer membrane vesicles (OMVs). We use a combination of quartz crystal microbalance with dissipation (QCM‐D) and fluorescence microscopy to both characterize the SLBs of various compositions and to probe their interactions ...

Automatic imitation of biomechanically possible and impossible actions: effects of priming movements versus goals

open access: yes, 2008
Recent behavioral, neuroimaging, and neurophysiological research suggests a common representational code mediating the observation and execution of actions; yet, the nature of this representational code is not well understood.

Proposing A Method for Assessment of Brand Imitation Factors

open access: yesAD-minister, 2019
Brand imitation is an approach for new brands to be successful in the market; on the other hand, it can be destructive for developed brands by incurring heavy financial losses. Many studies have investigated imitation and its effective factors.

An Avid Imitator

open access: yesJournal of Clinical Medicine Research, 2016
We present a case of disseminated cryptococcal disease, coexisting with and mimicking lymphoma. Determination of serum cryptococcal antigen should be considered for lymphopenic patients with hematologic malignancies, presenting with unexplained fever, and/or lymphadenopathy and/or pulmonary findings.

Structural insights and therapeutic targets in Acinetobacter baumannii capsule biosynthesis

open access: yesFEBS Letters, EarlyView.
Hypervirulent KL49 A. baumannii's capsular polysaccharide contains the nonulosonic acid 8‐epi‐Leg5,7Ac2, synthesized by epimerization via ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC. Crystal structures of ElaA, ElaB, and ElaC reveal their role in CMP‐Leg5,7Ac2 synthesis and regioselective C8 epimerization.
