Microglial Deubiquitinase OTUD7B Stabilizes STAT3 to Promote Neuroinflammation and Cognitive Decline in Alzheimer's Disease

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
. ABSTRACT Neuroinflammation driven by microglial activation is a defining feature of Alzheimer's disease (AD), yet the molecular mechanisms sustaining this proinflammatory state remain unclear. Here, we identify the deubiquitinase OTUD7B as a critical regulator of microglial activation and AD pathology.

Functions and mechanisms of lncRNAs in immune escape and their application in immunotherapy for colorectal cancer

open access: yesJournal of Translational Medicine
Recent studies have progressively clarified the critical role of long non-coding RNA (lncRNA) in cancer, especially concerning its involvement in immune processes, which holds significant therapeutic promise.

Beclin-1 Targeting for Viral Immune Escape

open access: yesViruses, 2011
Macroautophagy is a catabolic pathway in eukaryotic cells that has recently been shown to facilitate pathogen detection, pathogen restriction and pathogen-derived antigen presentation to CD4+ T cells.

Astrocytic LMP2 Coordinates NF‐κB and TGF‐β1/Smad3 Signaling to Drive Neuroinflammation after Cerebral Ischemia/Reperfusion

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
ABSTRACT Astrocyte reactivity critically shapes neuroinflammatory outcomes after ischemic stroke, yet the upstream regulators governing astrocyte state transitions remain incompletely defined. Here, we identify the immunoproteasome subunit low molecular weight protein 2 (LMP2) as an important modulator of astrocyte functional remodeling following ...

Immunomodulation in trichinellosis: does Trichinella really escape the host immune tesponse?

open access: yes, 2012
This review describes different aspects of the host immune response to Trichinella. The role of antibodies, T cells, mast cells, eosinophils and neutrophils in immune reaction to this nematode is considered, in the light of the recent data derived from ...

Gm26550 Modulates Learning and Memory by Increasing IGF1 mRNA Expression and Stability in Nrf2−/− Mice

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
The present study shows that Nrf2 directly binds to the Gm26550 promoter, thereby activating Gm26550 transcription and increasing its expression. Mechanistically, Gm26550 promotes IGF1 expression by functionally antagonizing miR‐26a‐5p‐mediated repression and sequestering the RBP KHSRP, thereby enhancing hippocampal neuronal synaptic plasticity and ...

Ultrasound‐Responsive Piezoelectric Fibrous Membrane Promotes Neurological Recovery After TBI by Modulating Microglial Polarization via Restoring Mitochondrial Dynamic Homeostasis

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
We demonstrate a novel therapy for traumatic brain injury TBI using a LIPUS‐responsive Piezoelectric fibrous membrane. It targets microglial mitochondria via in situ electrical signals, restoring homeostasis and reducing oxidative stress to promote an anti‐inflammatory M2 phenotype.

Immune Escape of Cancer Cells [PDF]

open access: yes, 2015
Effective antitumor immune response depends on the interaction between several components of the immune system, including antigen-presenting cells, antibodies, complement and different T cell subsets. Cancer cells have developed multiple strategies to

Somatic Evolution of a Germline Antibody Expands its Breadth to Neutralize Early SARS‐CoV‐2 Omicron Variants

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Engineering of the 148‐germline (148‐GL) antibody reveals a roadmap for overcoming SARS‐CoV‐2 viral escape. By introducing four specific somatic hypermutations, the resulting 148‐M4 variant restores potent neutralization against Omicron BA.1 and BA.4/5.

Polydopamine Nanoparticle‐Mediated Precise Near‐Infrared Optical Stimulation for Cognitive Enhancement

open access: yesAdvanced Science, EarlyView.
Polydopamine nanoparticles enable a precise, non‐genetic, and transcranial neuromodulation strategy via near‐infrared photothermal stimulation. By activating TRPV1 channels, this approach specifically enhances hippocampal gamma oscillations, thereby rescuing spatial memory deficits in models of perioperative neurocognitive disorder.
