The Management of Congenital Cytomegalovirus Infection in an Era of Universal Newborn CMV Screening
ABSTRACT The most common infectious disease responsible for paediatric developmental disability is congenital infection with human cytomegalovirus (cCMV). Many serious sequelae are caused by cCMV, including microcephaly, intracranial calcifications, neuronal migration defects, seizure disorders, developmental delay, and sensorineural hearing loss (SNHL)

Enteric Nervous System Damage by Food Contaminants: A Pathway to Neurodegeneration?
ABSTRACT The enteric nervous system (ENS), a key component of the gut–brain axis, has emerged as a critical player in the pathogenesis of Parkinson's disease (PD). It is the first neural system exposed to food contaminants (FCs)—a diverse group of ubiquitous toxic compounds fortuitously present in food derived from production, processing, storage, or ...

Neurons expressing APOE2 were more resistant to endogenous DNA damage, activated transcriptional signaling pathways associated with DNA repair, and were resilient to stress‐induced DNA damage and cellular senescence. In contrast, APOE4 neurons exhibited elevated expression of rRNA repetitive elements and were prone to becoming senescent.

Aging‐Driven Immunosuppression: The Role of Tregs in the Ovarian Tumor Microenvironment
In the aged ovarian TME, cancer cells exhibit increased succinate production. Elevated extracellular succinate activates the SUCNR1 receptor on Tregs, promoting their recruitment and contributing to an immunosuppressive environment. This leads to diminished anti‐tumor T cell responses and reduced survival.

L1CAM Promotes the Infiltrative Properties of Patient‐Derived Glioblastoma Cells
In vivo validation of L1CAM‐mediated GBM infiltration. Orthotopic transplantation of L1CAM‐expressing GBM cells into mouse brains demonstrated that L1CAM significantly promotes tumor cell infiltration and expansion in the brain parenchyma, confirming its critical role in the aggressive progression of GBM.
