Exploring supported ionic liquids for IgY antibody purification

open access: yesJournal of Chemical Technology &Biotechnology, Volume 101, Issue 7, Page 1332-1342, July 2026.
Abstract BACKGROUND Immunoglobulin Y (IgY), a scalable alternative to mammalian antibodies, typically found in hen's egg yolk, has gained attraction in diagnostic and therapeutic applications. However, its purification from egg yolk remains challenging due to the complex matrix and limitations of conventional techniques. Supported Ionic Liquids (SILs),

EFEKTIFITAS BERBAGAI METODE SUPLEMENTASI PIRIDOKSIN MENGOPTIMALISASI PRODUKSI IMMUNOGLOBULIN Y (IgY) KUNING TELUR AYAM

open access: yesJURNAL BIOSAINS, 2018

Capsulation as a strategy for oral delivery of immunoglobulin Y in broilers challenged with Escherichia coli O78:K80

open access: yesJournal of Applied Poultry Research
Summary: Egg yolk immunoglobulin Y (IgY) can be used as an alternative to antibiotics for preventing and treating intestinal pathogenic infections. In the present study, sixty Lohmann-LSL-Lite laying hens were immunized intramuscularly with formaldehyde ...

Kinsenoside Targets IDH1 to Restore Microglial Immune‐Metabolic Homeostasis for Alzheimer's Disease Therapy

open access: yesAdvanced Science, Volume 13, Issue 36, 29 June 2026.
Dysregulated TCA cycle contributes to Alzheimer's disease (AD) pathogenesis. Here, we show that microglial isocitrate dehydrogenase 1 (IDH1) is a critical driver. Elevated IDH1 disrupts citrate metabolism and mitochondrial function, exacerbating AD pathology.

Purification of egg immunoglobulin IgY

open access: yes, 1999
Purificationi of egg yolk immunoglobulin(IgY) was performed to understand the property of egg immunoglobulin. IgY differs from mammalian IgY in the molecular size(larger), isoelectric point(more acidic), and binding ability with mammalian complement and ...

Avian IgY antibody : In vitro and in vivo

open access: yes, 2002
Immunoglobulin Y (IgY) is the major antibody found in eggs from chicken (Gallus domesticus). IgY can be used as an alternative to mammalian antibodies normally used in research, and its use in immunotherapy has recently been proposed.

Characterization of Harderian Gland‐Derived Plasma Cells in Chicken

open access: yesEuropean Journal of Immunology, Volume 56, Issue 6, June 2026.
An isolation protocol for plasma cells (PC) from the chicken Harderian gland (HG) was established, and analyses of PCs revealed a FSChigh/CD45med/sIgpos/CD57pos/CXCR4high/TACIlow phenotype. Presence of CXCL12 and BAFF around HG PCs suggests a contribution of CXCL12–CXCR4 and BAFF–TACI to PC localization and survival.

Development of an Immunoglobulin Y (IgY)-Based Vaccine for Salmonella Control in Poultry

open access: yes
Salmonella infections in poultry represent a significant threat to public health and contribute to substantial economic losses within the agricultural sector. In response to these challenges, this study explored an innovative dual control strategy integrating the use of indigenous plant-based bacterial attenuation with targeted immunotherapy using egg ...

The interaction between calreticulin and immunoglobulin G and immunoglobulin Y

open access: yes, 2011
Calreticulin is a chaperone of the endoplasmic reticulum (ER) assisting proteins in achieving the correctly folded structure. Details of the binding specificity of calreticulin are still a matter of debate.
