Role of immunoproteasomes and thymoproteasomes in health and disease
Pathology International, 2021The proteasome is a multisubunit protease that degrades intracellular proteins into small peptides. Besides playing a pivotal role in many cellular processes indispensable for survival, it is involved in the production of peptides presented by major histocompatibility complex class I molecules.

Modulation of immunoproteasome subunits by liposomal lipid A
Vaccine, 2008Liposomes are phospholipid vesicles that have been used as carriers of antigens and adjuvants. Lipid A, the endotoxic moiety of Gram-negative bacterial lipopolysaccharide is a potent adjuvant and incorporation into liposomes essentially reduces the endotoxic activity of lipid A.

The Immunoproteasome as a Therapeutic Target for Hematological Malignancies
Current Cancer Drug Targets, 2014Remarkable successes with the FDA-approved proteasome inhibitors bortezomib (Velcade(®)) and carfilzomib (Kyprolis(®)) have proved that the proteasome is an effective target for the treatment of multiple myeloma. In other hematological malignancies, however, clinical trials of proteasome-targeting drugs have shown generally disappointing results to ...

Development of Novel Amides as Noncovalent Inhibitors of Immunoproteasomes
ChemMedChem, 2019AbstractThe development of immunoproteasome‐selective inhibitors is a promising strategy for treating hematologic malignancies, autoimmune and inflammatory diseases. In this context, we report the design, synthesis, and biological evaluation of a new series of amide derivatives as immunoproteasome inhibitors.
