Responses of Medicinal and Aromatic Plants to Engineered Nanoparticles
Medicinal and aromatic plants have been used by mankind since ancient times. This is primarily due to their healing effects associated with their specific secondary metabolites (some of which are also used as drugs in modern medicine), or their ...

Anomeric O-Functionalization of Carbohydrates for Chemical Conjugation to Vaccine Constructs. [PDF]
Carbohydrates mediate a wide range of biological interactions, and understanding these processes benefits the development of new therapeutics. Isolating sufficient quantities of glycoconjugates from biological samples remains a significant challenge ...

Cell wall target fragment discovery using a low‐cost, minimal fragment library
LoCoFrag100 is a fragment library made up of 100 different compounds. Similarity between the fragments is minimized and 10 different fragments are mixed into a single cocktail, which is soaked to protein crystals. These crystals are analysed by X‐ray crystallography, revealing the binding modes of the bound fragment ligands.

Life Cycle Assessment of Present and Future Marine Fuels [PDF]
Interest in new fuels for marine propulsion is growing, mainly as a result of stricter environmental regulations but also due to increased attention to air pollution, greenhouse gas emissions and the uncertainty of future oil supply.

We reconstituted Synechocystis glycogen synthesis in vitro from purified enzymes and showed that two GlgA isoenzymes produce glycogen with different architectures: GlgA1 yields denser, highly branched glycogen, whereas GlgA2 synthesizes longer, less‐branched chains.

New Synthetic Route to an Highly Efficient Photoredox Catalyst by Mechanosynthesis
Photoredox catalysis based on the [Cu(neo)(DPEphos)]BF4 copper complex allowed getting a significant improvement of the polymerization performances (e.g., thick samples, coatings...) compared to that obtained with other benchmarked photoinitiators in ...

Impact of Methanol Photomediated Surface Defects on Photocatalytic H2 Production Over Pt/TiO2
Co‐catalysts play a critical role in enhancing the efficiency of inorganic semiconductor photocatalysts; however, synthetic approaches to tailoring co‐catalyst properties are rarely the focus of research efforts.
